Backing tractor and implement onto your trailer??? How many do this??

On the very few occasions that I need to load my skid steer into the dump trailer, it has to be backed on due to the rear of the machine being heavier than the front. The machine will tip back onto it's rear if I try to drive on.
It's just a fact of life that the machine is heavier in the back to counter any weight picked up by the lift arms whether it's a bucket full of material or a load on the forks.

I back mine on when hauling.

I back mine on just incase a rock gets thrown into the cab while on the road. I figure the rear window is cheaper and easier to replace than the front windshield.

I always back on excavators. Tractors, it just depends. 2WD in wet weather, I just get it on whatever way I can. Once on the trailer, I just watch the truck and get a partial squat and call it good. Then binder her down there.

I have been wanting a 32' gooseneck trailer to haul my tractors and (shredder / disk) ect. I was recently told that doing so would really load my truck, unless I backed the tractor and shredder / disk / ect. onto the trailer to keep most of the wt. of the tractor over the trailer tires. Is this a realistic expectation? I am pretty handy with farm equipment, but thinking about backing a 10' shredder onto a narrow flat deck trailer seems like it would be pretty difficult to me. I want your feedback on this? Anyone here have small rails (like railroad iron) or something attached to floor to guide tires of implement? any and all feedback / thoughts welcomed. thanks again.
I have to load my 9 foot offset disc by backing it on my 24+5 foot gooseneck. Then disconnect the hitch and back over the tongue. It took a few times backing and pulling forward with the tractor because the rear offset disc gang would dig in on the ramp and move the whole disc to trailer left.

After some practice, I can back the disc up on the trailer and get it where I want it. As you can see in the photo below, even after disconnecting the tongue, my tractor's front tires are right at the dovetail and the loader bucket sits on the ramps.

A 32 foot gooseneck might give you enough room to drive it on and back it off and still be within CG and weight limits over each axle. It depends on what the overall lengths of the implement and tractor are, or if you will leave them connected or disconnect the hitch.

One thing to remember backing the tractor and implement on is to keep an eye on the front tires as you go back up the ramps and also how close to the edges of the dovetail you get the front tires. They will get close as you practice getting it straight on.

I hope this helps.

I have hauled a few skidsteers. Always interesting... They are heavy for their size compared to a CUT, and so short of wheelbase. Even on a low trailer, the first couple of times it feels like you are tilting a lot, and ready to roll over backwards or forwards(depending on how you're loading). After that it is no big deal.

My trailer is usually to short so I back the shredder on and un-hook then drive tractor on forward so tongue is under tractor and bucket is over top of shredder. May check your wheel spacing the 10ft shredder,my 8ft doesnt allow for much wiggle room and my 12ft flat-deck shredder, not going to happen. When I had my smaller 50hp I would just drive straight on and rest the loader on the neck of trailer. My dually handled it fine, and you can look at the truck and tell if bed is in the air or its squatting bad to adjust your weight.

Not something you can do in reverse order. Clever.
