Well seems like the "TO DO" list gets a bit shorter as you mark off the items at the top of the list as they get done. I suspect your list is like mine and is ever growing at the bottom as you add more :)
I have also measured twice and still cut it to short more than once :)

The other saying is "I cut it twice & it was still too short". :D
Should have a few extra (so to speak) $ this payday on the 16th. Harbor fright is on the list and home depot. Some food, not need dog seeds & 1 bird seed might do it.

Played on the net, looked up vinyl flooring, outdoor carpet & so on. Not ruled out but don't think so. Kool coat a rubberized roof coating is my current plan for the deck & metal stairs. To fix ramp all the old cement board needs to be removed & I have some t-11 siding to put down. Need to put some concrete filler under it in places. Then kool coat it, throw a little fine sand on it for a no slip surface. Need to get this done fairly soon, before any more support members rot out. My cement mixer still works with 2/4 hp motor, but no starting power. Have a 2hp that will be better if I can find a way to mount it. Where there is a will there is a way, right??

Yep I have enough plans to last around 500 years & about a million $$, no problem will get it all done. Right.

6 AM & no sign of sun yet. Hate short days & cold nights. So much trouble with hands going numb & no real feeling in them.

May make some tomilies this AM, little grill helps warm deck & hands.

Had some kind of mental block on getting vinegar & bleach. At last I did remember vinegar, no bleach. Was going to buy a gallon. Local store charges as much for a quart as a gallon town. Shelf brackets, got 2 small ones, they cost more than larger 1's in town. Oh well getting things done. Cleaned the windows yesterday. Damm what a difference. There was some old tape on one of them, let it soak in vinegar a little while & it scraped right off. Don't under estimate the power of vinegar. One of the best glass cleaners you can get. Cleaning your micro wave oven, heat a dish of vinegar in it, & it will wipe right out.

Hint of daylight going out & freeze. :D & Beer is not just for breakfast anymore. :licking::thumbsup:

Crash, when I was suffering from severely, painful ruptured discs, the VA doctor prescribed a muscle relaxer. It helped a great deal. I'm glad to see you are a thankful man. May God smile on you today. Take care.

Crash, how do you make your tamales.
That is one food I've wanted to make authentic style for 20 years and haven't yet.

Crash325 I sure hope things are well with you, or getting better.

Skunk cure is as follows. 1 bottle hydrogen peroxided (about the 1 qt size) 1 cup baking soda, and 1 or 2 tablespoons of soap (dog shampoo) or Dawn for area spraying. NO WATER!!!!!. Mix and apply as needed to the dogs. Apply to the dry coat sprayed area at first an let it sit a few minutes or as long as the dog will tollerate. I also put it in my 2 gal pump up sprayer (double batch with the Dawn) and area spray. It will quickly kill the skunk order. Good for a pre-soak on skunked cloths too. Use body wash to replace soap if your the lucky one - dont ask how I know :confused3::eek::D

I trap and baptize all the skunks I get - sorry if this offends folks (23 so far this year). For mice a few rescued barn cats solve that. If you can find litter mates - they stick together and stay around if your nice to them.

Hope this helps

WOW!! My home has 2 bathrooms. In all the time I have lived here I have never used the back bathroom. Others have used it but not me.

Making tomales is not hard, but time consuming. You mix course corn flower with water & let it sit for a while. Then put some inside a corn husk. Add the filling of your choice & cover it with more of the Masa. Wrap it up & usually they are steamed & you are done. Most common are pork or beef, but it can be most anything you want or like. My favorite are Green chili & cheese.
I usually add chopped green chilies to them. On line it is pretty easy to fine different fillings. They are normally warmed up by steaming. I wrap them in foil add a little water & put them on the little grill for 15 / 20 minutes. Enough time for 1 or 2 beers. :D Mutts love tomales & even eat the green chili.

The fly specks are coming out of the pepper.
Put up the last major board yesterday, a tapered hunk ply about 6" long. Them moved shelf that I had put up wrong. added 2 trim boards to hide some ugly, put some wood putty in a gap or 2 & some cracks in the boards.
Sat back had a beer or 3 & admired the fine wood work.:thumbsup:

Even came in house & drilled some holes in the floor for the leaking water to go down. Seems to be working but need more holes. Payday will get 3 pex, shark bite fittings in attempt to fix the pipes. Was all gung ho to get it fixed, then the real bad leak is tight behind the sink drain. May have to saw out the drain to get to it. will try something else first.

This AM will be the first test of the little heater & the enclosure. Slightly warmer 51 at 5 AM. No reason to be up early for anything. But lucky to sleep past 3 or 4 AM. Sure would like to sleep like the mutts.

Soon will need heat in the house, wood stove Or little propane heater. Have a fair amount of wood cut, inside & under the end of the big bar b q. A little more cut that can be brought in. Wish I were able to cut & split wood now days. Will mess around with it a little at a time & get a little more cut up.

Back was really lighting up yesterday. Take some deep breaths, & sit down till it calms down. Sure makes for slow progress.

More later,
Jim

Here is a video on making tomalies. Sound on my computer is not working, but even with out sound it is easy to understand. Its free & nothing to down load. :licking:

How to Make Tamales Video - Allrecipes.com

More fly specks out of the pepper today. Only 3 boards nailed up, some sawing & lots of thinking. Free help showed up & did the climb the ladder thing. So some stapling got done as well. cut 1 shelf board to length & the end of it will make another shelf. Split a 2x3x8", into 1 thin & 1 thicker. Worked out well. The thick 1 was used to staple ply to. Had an 8'r to put another place, It was warped too bad for that spot Cut it off & put another place where the the curve barley will be seen. Have 2 shelf brackets, but didn't put shelf up. More lumber payday. Decided to put some kind of roll up cover over the door. Never occurred to me how dark the deck would be. When I get the north window in it will lighten up quite a bit. Though about sawing some more, but after a few beers, decided it was not a good Idea. Will get that first in the AM.:talktothehand::thumbsdown:

Free help not exactly free. By the time we both have beers, it sure hurts the supply.

Fired up little heater today. Not as strong as I remember. I must remember the old 1 that died late last year.
Cooked a nice looking ham steak this A. Didn't like the taste, so Bobby got most of it. Must be me, as it could not be very bad tasting. It did warm up nicely this AM, just took a while. Am trying to eat more & healthier, just wish things tasted better.

Payday Harbor Freight & home Depot. Tools & 30% lumber. More beer, even a few groceries.

Don't have enough water leaks of my own. A friend called & wants me to fix a water leak at her place. After cutting some boards & it warms up a little will go look at her problem. Maybe fix it maybe not.

Phone message from VA I am scheduled for an MRI. Dr. never said a word to me about 1. November 6, Don't think I can make it will have to reschedule it. Also got a call on "Fitting" for a wheel chair. Though they were all pretty much the same. Ramp needs some real fixing before any wheel chair comes up it, or goes down. A little steep at the upper end.

Felt like killing bony today. Was eating some cottage cheese today, she came in the house & was gone in about 20 seconds. Even took the spoon & it was 1 of my good spoons. Hope I can find it. She has lost her house privileges for a while.

2 More days. I did not mail my ballot in, so will run it up to the voting place on Tuesday.

More later,
Jim

It should have been an omen, but I ignored it.
A Good day an an irritating , fruistrating.
Kitchen night light was out. Drill left plugged in tripped the GFI.
No big deals lets move along.
Ripped a board, a Little thinner on 1 side. No big deal, still works fine.
Set it in place, used hand saw, a little dull but works. Set it in wrong place OK just cut it again.
Looked at neighbors water leak. Nothing I want to do.
Going to get a small tank of propane. Nope not going anywhere today.
Cook some tomailes, little grill lights right up. Sit back relax & sip a beer. Well little grill goes out. Tank empty,
nope grill died. that makes 5 counting the one that lasted about 25 twenty five years Ok this gives me a tank to see if the house heater works better than outside 1.
Well it does not work. tap on all parts of it, check all connections. Nope its dead.
Put tomilies on big grill it works fine, but after about 1 years it is on its way out. Hope it holds out another year or 2.
Tomilies are good.
Come inside & try to get new remote working, Have to call dish, only took 2 calls about 25 minuets total.

Hope Trump gets elected. At least we can have our cheap crap made in the USA.
Alum. Foil wrapped up tomiles, when folding it up, it tears & is letting water out. Next buy heavy duty, its thick enough that you can not read the news paper through them.

Dec. 2 have 2 appointments at VA. 1 at 12:45, hey that works time to have a lunch in between. Nope can't eat or drink for 6 hours before #2.

Had plans to do several things today. Plans are made to be broken Right.

All I can say is Whats next ***** cat. :D

More later - Time to stop whining:D

Jim as I'm reading your post keep thinking about Festus on the Mat Dillon show.

Met the brother to Festus while working at Seligman ,Ariz. Totally different type of person he was working on the building of I-40 to Kingman .
back to your being like Festus Know you grew up in the Blue mountains and rough and tumble childhood then a period of Air Force time keeping the "bomb" warm.
Then Tombstone as deputy. did I leave out much .
What was the reason you moved into the area now living. seems to be problematic type of location
Keep up the writing just a few fill in type of subjects and can start a book.
