Jim - my source got back to me. He indicated you should contact the Arizona State Department of Veteran Affairs. Also the hospital should assign you a social worker to help in the situation. At you next visit look up their department on the index and just drop by. You never know, you might get a cute :shocked: one, or a grumpy battle ax. :laughing: Tucson also should have a local veteran affairs group that can help. He suggested a internet search or call you local library if they have a reference desk or newspaper to find contact information. Newspapers love human interest stories. Other resources should be available through you local County department of Social Services (that's who employs him here). His last comment was to check with any veterans organizations there, such as the VFW or others. Evidently and unfortunately your not alone in your situation. Might be worth a few calls.

As I've said before life goes on. For every rose there are thorns. The good, the bad & the ugly.

VA hurry up & wait. Accomplished major goals. Got a Walker. really neat, good sized wheels, seat & a basket to put my beer in. Go to get it & back brace, not in system, About 20 minuets on PH $ the order goes in. Take a number & wait. Second time for that. Get back brace, it is really different. Sort of works, maybe better after I use it for a while. Go to another building & learn how to use walker. Go back to start, take a number, 2 of them sitting there all ready to go. Nope go sit in waiting room while we put 1 together... Go to another building, see pee Dr. Not the 1 I was told to see, he looks so young, like a high school senior or first year college student. Maybe we can get the cutting scheduled. Nope, get a blood test, ( they have done that every visit.) PSD what ever that is should be 4, 10 is a concern, I'm at 14. They already know that, why do it again??? OK how long before its done. 3/4 weeks, OK then we can get on with it. Nope first we do a biopsy, maybe its cancer. Another 3/4 weeks,. then talk about getting it over with. Then how long to get that scheduled?? Have a wort or something on butt cheek, a few inches away. Lets do that at same time, nope that's a whole different department. Wanted to go to other places as mentioned before. I have been here since a little before 9 & its no almost 4 PM just get out of Dodge.

Having some kind of problem with truck. Tried to find it & fix it a few days ago. No luck. OH well it does start & with some stumbling around it goes.

Pain pills sort of working. Maybe some of the time. First day with them I felt great, almost like superman, more energy Strength & ambition than in a long time. Second day not so much. Still have lots of pain.

Today wake up in good mood, going to get a lot done. Take burn it's out of house, off deck & some out of barn. Get that going, enough to load the barrel 3 times. Fix my last 2 burger patties, with some cheese. First bite something in throat goes wrong. Now sick and in real pain. trying to throw up & so on. Turn my back for a few seconds & Bony steals the burger. Takes over 1/2 hour for it to go away. At 1 point I was yelling & jumping up & down.

There goes plans & ambition for the day.

Doug comes by with some beer. Telling jokes & funny stories & in general having a good time. Doug is so anti Trump, have to be careful what I say. Not sure what i said but he starts going off on Trump. Got him stopped after a while. Maybe I hurt his feeling, but told him I'd had enough Trump to last a lifetime. & that is pretty much the truth.

Worked hard the other day just to do things wrong. Took down panel so that I can seal last real leak better. get it back up. 1/4 Inch too long, OK not a big deal, it will still go in. Big puckers, it dose help. Today's plan was to cut it off & take out puckers, After neck problem, not do anything. Just settle down & get after things tomorrow.

Not the first time with neck problem, It has been even worse a time or 2. Will get Dr. appointment, another trip to VA & 3/4 weeks. I am happy for what they will do & have done, just far too many trips to there.

Hope to get back to fun stories & post some pictures in the near future. & Make some permanent changes on deck.

Jim - if they are talking prostate surgery, ask about the da Vinci® Surgical System. It a robot that does the cutting (run by a Doctor). Much less trauma and pain and much more accurate. Can take weeks or more off of the recovery. With you numbers they are closely watching for any change, which can mean cancer danger is increasing. Doing a Biopsy is normal in your range. They want to catch it before it gets to be a problem.

Accomplishments today. Very close to zero. Wanted a thin 5" wide board. popped circuit breaker 3 times. Got it done. Got id done. now need anther that will flex enough to match the deck curve. So much cold coming in from the bottom, it was really a surprise.
Did not take pucker out, still big leak at top.
Plan to make a dog door. not to worry Bony broke out the the thin ply & made her own., maybe work on that tomorrow.
Did not put on pot of beans. Grilled some really bad tasting sausage.
7 Gal propane tank & real strong heater. In less than a month, tank goes empty. Nothing to grill at the moment, take tank from grill & put weak heater on it. Now have it in the house.

Yep it is / was cold, 27/28 this AM Barley go up to 50 today. Bring heater in house, High inside was 52.

Things that need $$$ to fix always happen when there none to be had.
Things like neck problem on Friday evenings. Can't make Dr. appointment or much less see a Dr. Still sore & hard to drink or eat. Just what I need to gain weight.

Maybe CC will be here Monday. Payday is Wednesday so not a real big deal, whats 1 more day.

Life does go on. :thumbsup: Have beer & smokes. Enough food for 6 months. maybe almost a year.. So will not starve to death. Mutts got most of sausage, they happy.

Plans.
Tomorrow seal up large air leaks. Put on pot of beans. Dog door or just plug hole with something stronger???
In near future.
put up insulation deck ceiling, Maybe thin ply fairly soon. Math tells me that is about 450 cubic Feet. less area to heat or cool.
Put up thin cement board on lower north wall. Get old cast iron heater fixed so it will run on propane. Small window to see flag through. Get light hooked up to light up flag. Put in north window.

Spring.
2 orange trees. Tomato plants in 5 gal pots. Maybe garden next year.

Put cement cap on ramp. Finish up big hole.

Hopefully fix barn door (S) so that 1 person can open & close them. Get barn cleaned out & set all wood working equipment In Side.

Lots of plans, all I need is $$ & ambition. :laughing:

Think a mouse has killed window AC. heard it chewing in side it. & It does not work.

I know very little about Doc's & hosp. It has been 3/4 years since last trip to either. Sure wish it were still true. Maybe once things get fixed up a little can go back not not seeing Dr.

All & All life is pretty good. Happy most of the time. Always grouchy.:laughing:

Who in the middle of a cold dark night, would take me from my nice warm bed Squeeze me till I fart. Then make me sit on the cold, cold pot & make me wee, wee wither I needed to or not.

ME MOTHER. Lot more too it but that's all I remember. :laughing:

Have plenty of smokes & beer, so life can not be all bad. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Jim, IF they do a biopsy of your prostate, then forget about being able to hold your 'water' for very long. I got one done about ten years ago and in 175 miles (the distance from the hospital to home) I stopped to pee 7 times.

Merry Christmas Jim! Wish we were closer, it would be some fun to follow you around at the VA, taking notes, whispering. They get real nervous when someone is asking questions and taking notes. I have a relative that lost his leg completely in Vietnam. He was having trouble with VA and his crutches. He told Dad about it and Dad went down there with him, asking many, many questions, taking many notes. They got the crutches all figured out quick to get rid of Dad..

Definitely good advice hawkeyes! A second set of ears that just listen and take notes is a very powerful tool when dealing with folks with questionable practices.

Jim trust you are planning on a Merry Christmas. and feeling like doing something.

Maybe dig a fire pit and get couple of Havelina hogs toss on the coals bury in about 4 inches of dirt .
Wait for 4 to 6 hours and remove the cooked hogs wash and prepare for good eating. if neighbors show up with out food to help .tell them it is unidentified road kill .
with your low income maybe some bath tub gin could be made. sack of sugar and corn meal toss in a block of yeast cover for a while or until the buzzards start resting on roof of your house. frequent testing will improve taste.

Do you have back problems or maybe prostate. could be both .
sounds like the VA is situation normal . Trust the treatments will improve you health so maybe can get around with less hassle.
