BAd Fed EX delivery

Had a Fedex driver back down my driveway, to far to one side, so rear wheel off the drive and on the lawn. Spun the wheels on the way out and sprayed mud all over the side of the house, and left a trench in the lawn. I avoid them as much as DHL.

When I order anything online, I specify UPS or tell shipper not bother sending item. FedEx either can't find my address or it takes twice as long to receive as stated. Never any issues with UPS, always friendly and delivers day when stated or earlier. I once asked my UPS driver why they were so much more professional than Fedex. He just laughed and say "You get what you pay for".

FedEx is the pits. Left a note on Thursday of last week that they had tried to deliver a package and it had to be signed for (2 Nooks) and that they would deliver between 2-5 next day. I took a half-day off work and was home by 1:00 pm. Waited until 3:00, checked online and they had been "delivered and signed for" at noon.
About 30 minutes later a neighbor from several houses away came and said she had signed for a package for me. I appreciated that, but I have never met the lady and there was not a note telling me who it had been delivered to at my house. Not a great way to run a business, and not my first screw-up with them.

Boy there are sure alot of FedEx haters here. I actually get alot of stuff from FedEx and i have never had any issues to speak of... least none that i can remember. I guess it really depends on the carrier. I am sure there are alot of caring people that work for them also.. there not all like the ahole on the video.

Never had any issues with either FedEx/UPS, but we do live in town (small town) right now. Biggest problem I had was a lost delivery for some car parts. Been waiting, said they were delivered but nothing. Happened to be home when the UPS guy showed up a week later. Asked him about them and he was puzzled then got this "OH ****" look on his face and said he would be right back. He dropped them at a similar address in the townhouses behind our development and they had sat there for a week. Just a brain fart, nothing intentional, but if i hadn't caught the guy and asked I don't know if they ever would have been found. Funny thing is if I had gone out on my deck (middle of winter) and looked the right way, I bet I could have seen them sitting back there :)

Maybe I'm the exception, but I've NEVER had a problem with FedEx while I had quite a number of serious problems and complaints with UPS when we lived out in the country in Navarro County, and once since we've been back in town.

But fortunately, no problem with either in the 6 years we've been in our current home. I did once this year have a UPS guy ring the doorbell and wanted me to sign for a package, which surprised me since they usually drop it by the door, ring the doorbell once, and run for their truck. When he wanted me to sign for a package, and I hadn't ordered anything, I asked to see it first. Sure enough, he was at the wrong address. The package wasn't for me.

Bah. We got one of those Tuesday. It was an expensive Christmas 'farm-fresh variety pack', a big box of local organic vegetables and fruit. Very nice. The delivery guy dropped it and ran. No address on it and the packer's phone recording said 'closed for the holidays until January 4'.

We phoned everybody we could think of who might have gifted it to us. I've given friends a couple hundred lbs of organic apples, pears, persimmons, this year so is seemed reasonable it was intended for us. I even called the neighbor with the same address over on the next street because we get his mail occasionally. Nothing.

Finally late in the day I got an email reply from the vendor. It should have gone to my neighbor next door. She hadn't come home so I hadn't asked her yet, but as a single and rather keep-to-herself woman I didn't expect she would even want this much fresh produce all at once so I hadn't considered her a likely recipient. ... So at the end of the day I had bothered several of our friends over nothing. Its awkward to ask anyone if they sent you a gift, when it probably wasn't from them and neither party intended to exchange gifts. Bah humbug!

Well anyway Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everybody!

I said I'd never had a problem with FedEx, but almost had my first one today. I had ordered a couple of magazines from Sig Sauer and they sent me the FedEx tracking number and it showed it was supposed to be delivered today. So this morning, it showed to have gone on the truck for delivery at 7:12 a.m. in Irving. I could hardly believe it would be coming that far. Anyway, after 7 p.m. and after dark, I hadn't heard from FedEx and assumed they weren't coming today. So about 7:49 p.m. I came in here to check the tracking number again to see if they returned it to the warehouse for later delivery and it showed "delivered - no signature required". I went and looked and sure enough it was by the front door. It had to have been delivered after dark and he didn't ring the doorbell (may not have been able to see it) and didn't knock.

That's not unusual anymore.
I can see the truck coming up the drive and by the time I get my shoes and open the door he's gone. Package by the door.

We just sent a USPS Guaranteed Overnight package to a kid at college that didn't arrive the next day. They refunded the whole $18.

Their trace showed that the destination airport mail center sent it to a sort center miles in the wrong direction. It didn't go to the correct sort center and then to her college until the next day, hours after she was on the plane for her Semester Break trip. Her vacation photos from Colombia show her modestly dressed in blouse and skirt on the beach while her friends are in swimsuits. Yep, it was her swimsuit that she asked us to send her at the last minute. No rude comments please. :D

Yep, UPS does that, too, but the thing that surprised me was how late, and well after dark, when FedEx delivered this time.

:laughing:I don't think Sig Sauer sells that kind of magazine. And in fact, the magazines I ordered for my P229 were not needed in any hurry at all, but on the outside chance that FedEx might require a signature, we made a point of one of us being here all day. If their tracking had said it would be a later date, that would have been alright.
