Great posts Andy and Robert. You're points are what I said in my original post.

When you buy online at "rock bottom" prices, your buying a tractor, not quality service or a relationship with a local dealer who will be their for you to assist as needed.

I do not think that you should be taken advantage of by the local dealer but you can always find a middle ground.

The deal has to be fair for both the consumer and the dealer.
I do not care if I sell a customer a $12K TZ18 or LW270 wheel loader for $265K, they are going to get the same treatment at time of purchase and in the support after the sale.

That's about the same thing my local dealer said before I signed on the dotted line for a NH. I suspect that he too treats everyone the same. That's exactly why me and a few others that bought from him are seeking new support dealers. So as I see it some of us still paid a premium with nothing to show for it but lip-service. It happens, life goes on.....

But Andy and I do not pay a premium to deal with our local dealers. We get very competitive prices and I don't even have to shop around or get my dealer to work their numbers. It all comes down to individual dealers and the salesman you deal with. Maybe I am lucky or maybe they just like my boots I don't really know but I do know I have a lot of good dealers around here of all colors that I can buy from without hesitation. Of course I also know of a couple that I won't buy from. Maybe the amount of dealers in this area has something to do with it. Actually, I think they just like my boots /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Have fun.

You can park your tractor in your front yard with a sign about how bad your dealer is and I am sure your dealer will take care of any problem

hmm...and with a bazillion flashing lights just to be sure it gets peoples attention! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Maybe I should give it a try... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You might be surprised at the results. No company wants their name or product on display for a bad reason. If it doesn't get you the results you want you can take pleasure in the fact that you have hurt their business as other customers who see your problem will think twice before dealing with them. Some times a direct kick to the groin is what certain people need to wake up and get their act together. Good luck to you.

Latest update Guys...

Good news. Within the last few days, I've received great customer service from Brandon at Tarheel.

Missing items received by 2nd day air:

SMV sign
missing keys
replacement 18LA hardline (under warranty)
missing 18LA bucket level indicator
service filters, grease gun, and grease at no charge

The missing 12" hoe bucket came last week.

And I got a check to reimburse me for the lost oil.

So at this point, I think my issues specific to Tarheel are resolved.

As remaining issues, I will work with the local dealer on the PTO recall. And my case is leaking in several places. Not sure how much hydraulic oil is still leaking, but I'm going to try to get these addressed when it's in for the PTO recall. Still a little puzzled why a brand-new tractor case is leaking. We'll see what the service guy says when he gets into it.

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions.

Glad to hear you've gotten many of your issues resolved. Hopefully the leaks will be gone soon. My latest TN had a small leak out of a weep hole in the housing under the tranny. This leak was not directly from the tranny as it pooled in the outer case and then dripped out the weephole. The dealer splitthe tractor and found that New Holland had left out one of the seals on the trans shaft when the tractor was made. Replaced and problem gone.

Hopefully yours will resolve as easily.

Andy
