I was talking to the service manager at my local JD dealer today, I commented about how good JDPARTS.COM was...
He said FOR NOW! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
What do you mean I asked?
He said that HP manages the site now, but that is changing soon and he has heard that it will less user friendly /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. Not sure if the content is changing or just the way its managed.

I sure hope this is not a bad thing as he felt it was going to be /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The information I have seen, said it was going to be more user friendly.

Let's hope it gets better, not any worse. IMO, they could take parts lookup, and technical info search lessons from numerous other companies. It takes me forever to find the simplest information. Maybe I'm just a bit sloooow.

The information we had was that it would be more like the EPC (electronic parts catalog) that is used at the parts counter. This will be a definite improvement. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well, it will be a change. And we know what change means...

People will complain about it regardless of whether it is better, or not. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

You and me both. It takes me forever to find anything, and when I finally get to a part, I'm not sure it will work on my equipment. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
IMHO, it can only get better.

It is not just JDparts.com that has this problem. It is JD's part cataloging system itself. I have had several instances at JD dealers where looking up a part was a real problem. If you don't know exactly where a part fits into the system (and it is not always the most obvious or logical location) you will spend a lot of time hunting around until you stumble on it through the process of elimination. It is one of the most archaic systems I have ever encountered.

WOW I have never had ANT trouble with it. But then I get to work on DCX parts systems, too...

I have a question about JD Parts online....when you order something, does it ship to your local dealer and then you pick it up, or can you have it sent directly to your house?

When I have ordered parts on JD Parts. They were shipped to dealer. My dealer always calls when I make a order. Sometimes to tell me there is a different price than the one quoted. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
One time it was even to tell me the part was less. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
