Hi, All,
This is old news for the seasoned pro's. Traded my beloved 4115
for a 3520 last spring, 2006. Never needed a ballast box when doing
snow removal with the front loader.
Got call from the wife saying they had snow in the Indy-area. She said
about an inch. Got a call a little later saying that my son was
out moving snow. I thought "for an inch of snow?....". Well,
she said it was more like 6 inches...minor details....I said, "yeah, an
inch is close to six inches.".
She said that they had to put the ballast box on the tractor - it has
about 600 pounds of suitcase weights in it. She said my son couldn't
get up the driveway - tires would spin. Asked if he had it in 4wd -
yep was the response. R4's, BTW.
I told her that the bucket on the front is a tad heavier than
the one on the 4115. She said they finally got the tractor up the
driveway and put the ballast box on and her remarks were what
a difference it makes...Dah!
Told her they should have tried backing up the drive...oh well,
they got it up the drive anyway.
Remarked that when he finishes with the tractor to roll-out
the Grasshopper with the rotary broom and give it that nice,
finished appearance - i.e., cleared to the pavement. Somehow,
I imagine that they're stop after using the 3520.
Had to laugh. Though, wish I was home - nothing like seat-time.
Cheers,
Lon
