Ballast Box B8160 quick hitch compatible?

As stated, is the ballast box B8160 compatible to a 3pt quick hitch? Anybody using this combination?

That design Kubota ballast box fit my BX2660 3 point in 2009. But now, on my B2620 with a Quick Hitch, I can not make it fit since the dimension is so narrow. Thus, I remove the QH when the ballast box is needed. If another attachment, such as the Box Blade etc. is mounted, I use them for ballast, unless working space or more ballast weight is a factor. Maybe some of the more capable TBN members can fabricate a solution.

It is NOT compatible. The L series ballast box does not work with a quick hitch either because of the way the top connection is made. I was able to use the quick hitch on the bottom pins but I use a chain on the top so that kind of defeats the purpose of the quick hitch but it works for me.

4shorts has a video where he modified one to be quick hitch compatible.

A separate subject, but I'm going to be making one that is QH compatible and uses a 55 gallon drum and a draw bar. The draw bar can be removed just in case I ever want to use it for something else.

In 2009 I had a set of "EZ Hitch" that had the same problem that the above PATS has. The company rep said that I could saw that top interference off, as it would then slip in there. Well that would defeat the usability of the EZ Hitch with other implements. So I just manually hooked up the box , since it was empty and not too heavy at that point. Now with the Quick Hitch I do the same thing, but have to take the QH off.....:thumbdown: Fortunately, that doesn't happen that often. Hope this helps.

I've bought 3 different sets of quick hitches. One was Pat's which I sold and two other different sets off e bay that were under $100 that I prefer. They don't have the "thing" sticking up and easy on and off. I even use one set upside down that comes down over the attachment pin and locks on.
