Ballast ballast box material

   / ballast box material #21
Update on the ballast box material:
I contacted a local tire store (where I have bought tires for several vehicles) and they do, in fact, keep and sell the tire weights. They normally sell to people who turn around and sell the lead for scrap. The tire store sells these weights in 5 gallon buckets that typically weigh 120 lbs. per bucket, for $12.00. So, I have bought three buckets for a total weight of approximately 360 lbs. The 15 gallon containers of weights will occupy a relatively small amount of space in the ballast box and will ride low, at the bottom of the box. I am putting the weights into 30 lb bags, which makes it easier for me to lift them, individually. This way I can do as others have recommended and add/remove weight if needed. I figure with the lead weights and the weight of the ballast box itself, I should be in pretty good shape. (with rear tires loaded already).
So, the ballast box will sit on the heavy duty furniture dolly, in the garage, when not needed. When I need it, I will back the 2210 up to it, use the IMatch quick hitch, and be good to go. (at least, that is the plan.....LOLOL)
