Band Saw vs Abrasive Chop Saw

I have both. The bandsaw gets the use. The chop saw would get the attention if I had a lot of repetitious (length) light steel cutting to do like if I were making a fence out of square steel tubing.

I used an abrasive chop saw for several years, hated the dust. I just bought a Fein Slugger dry cut saw. So much better.

I've been using a similar Rigid dry cut saw for 20 years; I bought it for site work on one job and now I'm stuck with it. I've done a LOT of work with that poor little thing, building steel ship cabins. Mostly 60x60mm angle and T, but also some 2" solid round and big thick pipe.
It doesn't like heavy stock [I spray coolant at it when I do that].
The blades are expensive and sensitive to tooth breakage.
On mine, the fence is useless except at 90. [use a clamp to hold the work to the fence when cutting angles].
But the machine was affordable, it's light weight, it's fast, and doesn't make grit. It's louder than a bandsaw but quieter than an abrasive wheel saw.
I wish I had a good bandsaw, or one of those water cooled 1/2 ton slow cold cutters...
