Been awhile, so here are some pics from last Thursday, the day before the hurricane hit, we had already gotten 3 days of rain 6+inches, we had 10 to 12 inches of water standing, it was raining too hard.
Yes,backyard isn't graded yet, been working on it.

Car tires 1/2 covered.

Got out tractor and started a ditch to get away from foundation

When it finally broke through...it washed-out my footing

And I oops, sunk

Got her out with neighbor driving wife's truck

More later...
How are things going for you?

Things could be better and could be a hell of a lot worse, have to cut some more stuff and pull crap so power company can reset the power pole, gotta figure out how if possible to save the fridge and freezers

Got the last tree off the building yesterday evening, still have cleanup to do but I can almost get to see what we need to repair.

Do you have any small generators for the fridge/freezer? Able to get gas anywhere.
Hope your power comes back soon.

They are in the building , I just used the 3500watt invertor in my truck, only had to run the fridge and freezers a short time 3 times a day, we had candles and oil lamps. we only had no power at main house for 6 days, and since we had to work our jobs, I had a neighbor come down once a day to start my generator (cheaper to let the cars idle than the 7.3);)

We had internet on the phones

The upper shop, it will be several more weeks, we did lose 2 freezers though, didn't realize the power was off for a few days...oops

Weather was perfect, temp. perfect sleeping with windows open.

We did end up having to can 27 pounds of chicken, on the deck over propane...mountain folk doing mountain things

Also did peppers one evening

Def. could be worse...this time of year, we have never needed a generator in 25 years.
had our health and plenty of food and water, the cold showers sucked for me, wife was able to take 3 warm/hot baths from the 50 gallon water heater.

We are still doing cleanup, had to addon to the coop, got the roof repaired.

Hope to have power at the shop soon, they replaced my 10 foot pole with a 25 foot tall telephone pole, which means we have to buy about 54 feet of new wire and then install the weather head w/i 2ft of of the wires they reran. and then a new box and conduit. just takes time and we are prioritizing work before winter.

Roosters are the devil. When we first stared with them, we let the roosters live a lot longer then we should of. It started off with them killing hens, then they would start to chase after us, and even attack our ankles from behind. Then one day my wife got a spur in her calf, and that was it, no more roosters!!! Now we shoot them once they start to turn into the devil. It's a process that starts with the hens. If you let them live, it just gets worse. We don't let it get worse anymore.

Got electricity back on at the shop after 4 months!

Now just need to get HVAC checked out and thaw out water lines and see what I get to fix next.

After snow storm, only thing moving was the tractor...
