Hi all, thanks for being here.
Very valuable in deciding on the Kubota.
We are going to purchase a BX23 and a 60" Landspride RFM.

Have 10 acres ( 3 yard & weeds/7 woods plus 200" asphalt driveway.

One use will be snow removal. Which tire type would be the best versatile, yet effective choice, Bar or Turf. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

From my experience this past winter, I changed from turfs (w/ 50# bolt-on tire weights) to AGs (loaded w/ fluid). My traction increased greatly. No slippaged at all. Excellent sterring capability too, especially when I needed to use the FWD.

About 3 weeks ago, I installed a complete dry well system in my yard. In a "wet" area of the yard, I thought I was going to be stuck, but w/ the AG tires, I came out no problem. If the turfs were on, forget it, I would have had to get the P/U out of the garage! The downside to the bars is that I left a lot of ruts in the grass from the tires. Now that my spring digging projects are over, I have swapped over to the turfs. I really want to put on a set of R4 industrial tires to get the best of both worlds, but they are a little out of my price range. I hope this helps you out.

I would point out here that blackmajicwoman has these bar tires liquid filled. The damage indicated to the turf would not normally occur with pneumatically filled bar tires.

By all means the bar (R-4 industrial) are the best compromise in my opinion. I've had Ag's, (tore up the yard something awful and left ruts) and Turf, ( great on the yard but very poor traction even in wet grass let alone snow/mud). The R-4's do not rut hardly at all and almost no damage to grass unless making tight turns in FWD and great traction although I suspect they will load up easy in soft mud.
