Bare-bones tools necessities for "home" shop????

Each store is different. I've been to 4 or 5 different ones and each seem to have their own size, inventory, and "smell"...Though I think the smell you are referring to is a smell sort of like a "canvas" and fresh paint smell. Their on line inventory differs somewhat though the same items can be found at both places.

I am finally figuring out the 20% off thing of one item per visit and printed out some before I went Friday. I picked up the hand held band saw that was on sale for $75 so with the coupon it was $60. I also picked up a pack of three Morse brand USA made blades too since it said the one that came on it was for very soft metal, plastic and WOOD then I checked out and took it the car.

After opening I saw it was basically put together so I found and outlet and tested the variable speed, etc and that worked fine so I put it back into the car and when back in and bought more things and the most expensive item was the large metal drill bit set that goes up to 1" that was $30 on sale and the guy picked up another 20% off coupon and cut the price on it $6.

I looked on line an the major brand saws were $250+ so I took a chance at $60 for my hobby use. I noticed it now has needle bearings but I had read some talking about the sleeve bearings not lasting well. I will report the results when I actually use. It. I picked up some major brand blades of the Sawsall.

Since everything seems to be on sale and the 20% deal seems to run all of the time a $400 item on sale for $300 would only cost $240 for example IF HF tools can work for you.

I do like to go aisle by aisle like the wife does at Krogers. :D

The 20% coupon.

Do you go online to their site and print these off? Where do they come from?

Also, it seems you're saying that the coupon will take an ADDITIONAL 20% off an already sale priced item. Is my understanding of this correct?

It would be handy to have a stack of those coupons at the ready.

By a larger priced item with one. Go, do something else, eat lunch, etc.; then come back a few hours later and use another coupon for something else.

Fiscal shopping, it's ALL of our responsiblities to be frugal Americans. Old Ben would be SO proud!!!!! :D:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Iplayfarmer,

Do I have a proper understanding of the 20%? Do you get this off even if an item is already sale priced?

Thanks

Yes. 20% off of one item per visit with the internet coupon. Staff will often have some in their pockets it seems.

Hand held metal band saw normal posted price was $90 on sale for $75 and with 20% coupon it was $60. If you needed on fast at regular price then it would have been $72.

I did not even leave the parking lot and they knew that so when I was checking out at closing time the same guy asked me if I had another 20% off coupon to use on this purchase and I said yes I did in the car and another one who was fetching things for me by item number while I checked out said he had one left in his pocket and got me $6 off of the $36 drill bit set that was on sale for $30 making my net cost $24 so I now have through 1" metal drill bits.

I did buy a total of $210 and was in the store just over an hour.

Thanks Gale,

Seems as if you are 'practicing' smart fiscal use of discretionary funds. :D

Glad you got some good buys. May they last long and prosper your efforts.

Accounts here on TBN make it seem like some stores are more stingy with their coupons than others. My experience has always been positive with the coupons. 20% off the highest priced item in the cart including sale prices.

There are three stores that I frequent... One by my in-laws, one an hour away, and now there's a new one 15 minutes away.

15 minutes away!

You're a marked man, Iplayfarmer. :D

Next thing you know, you'll be arrested for counterfeiting, not cash but coupons!:laughing::laughing::laughing:

If they weren't so ubiquitous, I'd be tempted.
