I picked out a location I wanted to build a 4 by 60 pole barn. Had the excavator over to review. He lasered it and said it had about 1 1/2 foot drop corner to corner. I had the guy do it but it turned out much deeper than he or I thought because of what he did for drainage around it. One side has over 4 feet above grade. So, I'm wondering what kind of issues I should be aware of with that much build up. He did the work with a paddle scraper and said the dirt compacted well because it was wet.

Depends on soil. Most places here have a lot of clay, packs good if right moister content. Aaron

You don't say where you are, which makes a lot of difference. Settling always matters, but does frost protection matter where you are? You going to pour a floor? Are your posts set already? What material did he use for fill? Need more info

The property is in east central Kansas. Fill was scraped from surrounding area, sandy loam. Posts are not in yet. I wanted to pour a concrete floor.
