Battery Dead JD 990

I bought my 990 back in august of 05. I went to crank it this past weekend and its completely dead, it hasn't been run since around mid november. Do I already need a new battery? Should I just jump it off and run it a while?

I would try charging it first and see if it holds a charge. If not, it's new battery time.

I had to replace my battery today on my 990 it's been acting up after 13 months ,and my 790 the battery died after 2 years old. But south Florida is very hard on batteries it's jus too hot.
