I have a drop cord at each tractor to power a small battery conditioner on all of my farm vehicles. I seldom have any issue with a battery and they crank over fast for good starts when cold.
Agree with this, regardless of battery brand. I try to keep a small, "smart" battery maintainer plugged into each of my tractors when not in use for more than a few days. Also, 24/7 on the small "motocross-style" battery of and electric-start standby generator. With today's solid-state circuitry, they're pretty fail-safe.
For the last five years, I've been using the so-called "deluxe" model from HF. Never a slow start or a failure of a charger or battery. 12 Volt Deluxe Battery Maintainer and Float Charger Before that I used the more basic model with only the alligator-style clamps. They're fine as well, but being able to permanently mount a connector lead to the battery terminals and then just plug in is real convenient.
