I am sure there is a simple explanation....... but I was wondering....
for most batwing cutters there are usually 3 hoses, one for each wing, and one to raise and lower the deck.

It also appears that these are single acting cylinders so each function only needs one hose.

My question is, how do you connect a single hose to the tractor rear remote which has 2 hose connections?

On my HTL there is a supply/return hose, and the same connections on the rear remote.....so that makes sense how that system works.

Just having a hard time seeing on a single hose works connected a rear remote?

Probably a simple answer....just curious.

Thanks

You plug a single hose into one coupler of each remote valve, oriented so the cylinder reacts with the control lever in the manner the operator prefers.
Tractors with closed center remote valves, CCLS valves, or PFC valves will operate the cylinder as expected, but will build high pressure standby in the unused coupler when the valve is stroked to retract the cylinder.
Tractors with open center valves will build relief pressure in the unused coupler when the valve is stroked to allow oil to return through the hose and valve spool, unless there is a setting on the valve section specifically to prevent that from happening when a single acting cylinder is used. Some tractors have this feature, most do not. Such pressure buildup is usually not considered problematic. Alternatively, the valve spool can be placed in float to lower a wing or the deck, but that is an uncontrolled drop, and may be undesirable.

Actually most batwings only need two remotes.
1 runs both wings and 1 makes it go up and down.

They are all single acting cylinders, meaning they only "pull" one way. So you "pull" the wings up, but pushing the valve the other way just releases pressure and it drops from it's own weight.
