Bear trouble

Buppies we are not too far apart as we are in the Check Copper Hill area.

About 2 years ago I hit one with the truck heading toward our camper. It crossed the road in front of me. i reacted enough to just tag it with the front left of the bumper and broke the fog lamp bracket only. Went back next morning and saw no evidence of it being hurt. I have caught a picture of one on game camera a year of so ago, just walking by the camera. The other evidence I have is muddy paw marks on camper. Also, the pipe coming from the spring runs along the ground but I have it sticking up in air about 3 feet or so in the fork of a small tree. I have now had to cut off about a foot or so twice as the bear seems to enjoy chewing on it.

In all my years have never seen a recently dug or even old bear den or if I did did not know what I was looking at

Jeepers... we must be neighbors, I'm northeast of Bassett. We've seen two bears this year. No real problems so far.

We are real close I believe

Seems we also were almost neighbors. We moved up here from Lake Wylie. We love to go to Floyd. Great area with great people

Lake Wylie is a beautiful area. Before we moved seven years ago lived on Smith Mountain lake for 21 years. We are in the general area of Boones Mill

My tractor was purchased at Rocky Mountain Tractors. Wife and I from Martinsville originally but lived in NC since I got out of Va Tech. I hope to retire back up to family land there in Floyd Co. Love going there now when I can.

Use to not hear much about bears in Floyd from mom and dad but could be I was not listening!

We never saw bears on our land in Bath county until about 10 years ago and now they are a pain in the butt.
