Chipper BEARCAT CHIPPER

I've a chance at a nice, used Bearcat 70554 chipper. I've been trying for a couple days to access their website which seems to be down (www.bearcatproducts.com). Emails to them either to Info or sales@bearcatproducts.com are bounced back. Anyone know if the company has gone out of business or is this likely to be a temporary glitch?

From what I can see on the web this is a nice chipper retailing around 3k US but I don't want to have a problem with spares if the company have gond out of business. I'd rather source a Jinma pto chipper which I can pick up for only slightly more than the seller of the Bearcat is asking.

I have a Bear Cat Chipper. Mine has it's own 20 HP motor. It has been a great machine. Several TBNer's have the PTO version that you are looking at. It's also marketed by Woods as the 5000 series.
I called Crary Bear Cat to see what is going on. Their site and email has been down since last Friday. They are working on getting it up again. But did not have a date for it to happen. You can reach them at 701-282-5520 until the site is back up and running.

Bearcat has OEM contracts to supply chippers to a number of major manufacturers, so they should be around for a while. For instance, I think the Bobcat 5A and 9A hydraulic chipper attachments for Toolcats and skid-steer-type Bobcat loaders are made by Bearcat.

Thanks for the information. That was really helpful of you to call on my behalf, Ron. Thank you. Having also had a look at the Jinma today, I think it's a pretty good machine for the money and the dealer has spare blades - spares were an issue for me. I've decided to sleep on it and make a decision tomorrow.
