It's been several years since we gardened and I'm putting in a new garden spot for my wife.

When we gardened before I used a disc, bedder and cultivator that belonged to an elderly neighbor who was an old school farmer. Everything was set up nicely to work together. He passed away and his kids from the city sold all the stuff before I knew about it or I would have bought it.

All that said, I am starting from scratch in working out the equipment. I already have a 3 pint tiller so breaking grond is no problem. It's bedding and cultivating that I'm trying to work out and get equipped for. There is no shortage of space so what I am thinking at this time is using a one row bedder behind my big tractor which would put rows on 60 inch centers. Then use a cultivator such as the EverythingAttachments #10 to cultivate. This is an expensive approach to buy the #10 and the bedder.

I have started looking around for used equipment like my neighbor had but haven't had much luck.

Is there anybody here that uses the number 10 and the bedder accesory? What is your opinion and your comments about it?

Is there anyone with any other suggestions for equipment possibilities?

I would contact Ken Sweet here on the forum first as he is a sponsor advertiser first to see what he has to offer.

another option are the folks at Buckeye Tractor Co Buckeye Tractor Company have a 20 percent off sale on all their equipment right now and perhaps it might be worth a look as they have bedder, shaper, plastic laying units all in one to eliminate cultivating and weeds and have the size you need.

For an inexpensive solution, you might try checking Agri supply for bedder discs. They also sell a tool bar to mount them onto or if you just wanted one implement you could also get an inexpensive KK culitivator from TSC and mount the bedder discs to it. (you would probably have to remove the cultivator tines to use the bedders and vise versa) Check out the Bayougardener he has videos posted using a similar setup.
