...this is the last type of loader I was working on.

After that scale of work, I'll bet a Yanmar 1700 looks and feels like a toy! On the other hand, I bet you'll love working on it.. Welcome, stranger.

What hog do you ride?

Yeah, I never got to operate the big ones much, I just gave the mine operators a couple of hours of basic instruction on the controls when I handed them over, but they are fun, and it's cool to be able to say you've run the largest FEL anywhere in the world! And yeah, this little guy will be a nice change, no 500lb Husco valves to wrestle out, or hoist cylinders that you need a small crane to change out!

As for the hog, more of a piglet, '02 1200 Sporty, but I like it.(even if parts do occasionally fall off ;) )

Parts don't fall off a hog. The hog shakes them off:D

Finally snapped a picture of the little critter just before it scampered back into the brush, hopefully it'll get used to me before long and won't be so skittish. :D

Yeah, I haven't played with that yet, but apparently you can loosen those up, remove a pin and fold the ROPS back, no idea why you would want to do that other than maybe clearance under low structures.

That appears to be a non-certified ROPS that we have heard has been showing up on some recons. Does it have an OSHA certification sticker on it? If so, which OSHA standard (this would be a numeric series)?

Hahah, oh great, now OSHA is going to come knocking on my door and shut down my gardening venture! ;)

I'll look tomorrow, wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't have a cert number, My first thought was that it might decide to fold up in a roll over situation. But hey, been playing with tractors for 25yrs now and haven't managed to roll one, maybe my luck will hold??

We are lucky in the Yanmar forum to have many dealers who post with extremely useful and important information. As we all know, the only thing worse than not having a rops, is having one that might not work when needed. When a dealer posts info on a possibly unsafe rops, he is doing it to benefit the safety of all of us who read these threads and making us aware of the possible hazards if we should get one and certainly not trying to cast disparaging remarks about one's tractor.
