Hi, just wanted information on farming. Hope this is the right place to go. I'm from Missouri and am interested in growing a garden on the only sunny area on my property. My problem is that it is next to our lake and on a slight slope, wanted to use cedar logs on 3 sides and fill dirt to start a garden and wanted to know if cedars would work and how somebody else may have approached this problem. Am new to farming, want to start with the garden and go from there to chickens and goats and a few pigs and cows later. I will eventually have to fence the perimeter of the property, later for that.

Sure sounds like it will work ! May want to line the inside of the "box" with landscape fabric before you fill it with soil. Sounds like you could use the lake to keep things irrigated , I have raised beds and water from a small pond with a Honda 1.5" pressure pump, slick as a bean ! Good luck !
