Here is a winter project that I have mostly completed. It is really the first major dirt digging I have done with my X585/loader and then 2210/loader. The hairyest part of this was the close proximately to the pool fence. The slope really ended at 1 foot from the fence and went from 20 degrees at one end to over 35 at the other. It was difficult to mow with the push mower so required using the weedwacker which I just love using sooo much /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Because of this love I would typacally ignore cutting this part and it would tend to get overgrown. The X585 could cut most of it in 4wd except the steepest 15'. Here is a picture of the slope with my 585/johnny bucket at the half way point with a slope of 27 degrees.

This picture is the 2210 getting dirty. I traded the 585/loader for the 2210/loader so you are looking a a very expensive 2210 /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif The difference in the 2210 loader ability and 585 loader ability was impressive. Taking a big chunk of earth out of this pile was no problem for the 2210 and I have yet to install the the toothbar that I kept from the 45 loader.

Well play time was over and it is time for seed and straw. Just hope it doesn't rain too hard otherwise I'll have lots of green at the fence. I can now drive the 2210 down by the fence without hitting the ROPS. I will still have to cut in the up/down but won't have to worry about driving into the pool.

Can you comment on how you like the 2210 vs. the X585/Johnny Bucket? I have about 2 acres some with slopes, and I am deciding between the X585 and 2210. The X585 would probably be fine, but for the price difference (including the JB Sr.) I should probably get a 2210.
Though, I am concerned about the 2210 on the slopes vs. the X585. The X585 "seems" like it would be "safer" on slopes since it has a lower overall height. But, then again the 2210 has ROPS.
Any insights you can give would be appreciated.

Here is what I have found so far. Be aware that I haven't used the 2210 for mowing yet but by the temperatures here it won't be long.
The X585 has going for it;
Quiet gas twin EFI that starts easily
Good styling and with the HDAP tires is mean looking!
Doesn't have a ROPS to get in the way while mowing.
Easy operation -just push the pedal and go.
Switchable 4WD on the go. Switchable diff lock
Ability to upgrade to 3 pt/PTO and FEL
Very limited 3pt
One control for loader bucket and 3pt- not good
Johnny Bucket Sr. is a nice addition with limitations but it is around $1400.00 as compared to $2700.00 for FEL
The 2210 has
Diesel (a little harder to start and blows some smoke on startup which is a good reason to have the door open and front of tractor facing it. It is also noisier.)
More tractor-ish styling but easier for me to get on and off.
Same tires as the X series if you want.
Overall the tractor is more noisey than the 585
Easy operation -Select range then push the pedal and go.
Switchable 4WD on the go. Switchable diff lock
3pt/PTO included and is more capable
FEL is much more capable and the joystick is a pleasure to use. Has float that works well.
MMM is easier to remove than 585 I found.
Didn't feel any tippier than 585.

Cost for comparable X585/3pt with loader $14k-$15k
