Re: Comments about JD 100 series.
As some of you have already mentioned, they are a good quality low end machine, better than most for the money.
I just recently sold my 2005 L111 that I had purchased new and used for
seven full seasons.
Replaced it with a 2011 Husqvarna GTH27V48LS Garden Tractor as I felt it was time to bail out of the Deere--WHY ?? 400 plus hrs. 1 acre with hard use, carts, heavy Craftsman lawn sweeper, and a hilly ditch. All of this and I replaced one (1) mower drive belt and one (1) headlamp bulb !!! That's WHY--
Still ran as new, never used any oil, and still was a sharp looking machine.JD's
do hold their value better than most other--Sold this for 1/2 of what it cost new ($ 1,800).
Very good service for an inexpensive machine,BUT knew I was on borrowed time for repairs and tranny so switched to Orange.
Hope I made the right choice as the Husky GT seems so much tougher than JD X300. Time will tell as I already have complaints after 16 Husky hrs.
But then, old engineers pick everything apart.
Thanks, Neil
