Posthole Digger Belltec loader mount hydraulic post hole auger system

I checked them all out at the NFM and the Belltech was impressive. I watched the video of it going through rock. I also looked at Land Pride and Danuser. I am familiar with Danuser and have several Land Pride attachments and they have served me well. Belltec is a reputable company as far as I could tell and the fellows at the show were very knowledgeable. I was walking back and forth and gathering information from all of them. The Belltech was the most impressive and the most expensive, but it seemed to fit the bill perfectly for my needs. I am sticking with it if they deal squarely with me and I hope to put it into service in the near future. They assured me at the show that it would work fine with my tractor and loader. I have installed a Land Pride 3rd function remote and I am anticipating to begin drilling (augering?) in the near future. I was up front with my dealings and expect the same from the seller. I guess I should have waited and gone to the local dealer rather than order it at the show. But, everything I was comparing was there and everyone was very helpful and I based my decision upon what I gleaned from everyone there and this seemed to suit my needs the best. It was a learning process for me with GPM rates and pressure, heat issues with hydraulics, etc. I try to be informed and make astute decisions based upon available information. I do believe Belltech is a quality product and a reputable company, but I will reserve further comment until this situation plays out.

Is that their HTLS6K unit (hard to tell with the duct tape)? For MX5100? You have 9.2 gpm flow, what is your pressure?
I think your MX5100 will have hard time moving this bit. You probably looking at 5 seconds per turn.

9.5 gpm per the owner's manual 2560 psi. It is supposed to be slow for the dirt and rock bit, but I don't know what the rpms will be yet. It is what the factory rep recommended for the 5100. The unit is the HTLS-6K.

hmm, you should be getting 4500 ft-lbs torque but your rpm will be around 13 or 14, or one turn every 5 seconds or so. Extremely slow. Maybe that is what is required to drill in solid rock, I don't know, never drilled.

Neither have I, Yet! It is not solid rock here, but it is Eden Shale and there are a lot of large rocks. I tried using the backhoe, but some of the rocks were so big it looked like I was digging a swimming pool. Mostly they are about 6" - 8" thick and different circumferences with no particular pattern. I will still have my trusty shaver on the 3 point hitch for the easy ones. Sometimes I can go 5-6 holes with no problem rocks, but sometimes there are that many problem ones in sequence. It would make more sense to hire it done, but it is something constructive for me to do outdoors and as an ROF I have the time.

Good luck. I'm just surprised Belltec guy recommended this drive for your flow. I have 15.9 gpm on my tractor and all the dealers I talked to recommended stuff in the 50-100 rpm range. Maybe they go through the same training :) or this is what you "suppose" to be drilling at. I know for sure on my bench press it sure it drills better at lower speed, less heat, sharper drills. Maybe the same principle applies here. But 13 rpm?, you'll get old drilling your holes :)

I'm thinking something like 40 rpm plus for my tractor.
