It there any chance your company, The Perry Company The Perry Company: Home , could offer TBN members a discount?:D Hopefully it does not hurt to ask.

I looked at your product line for tractors and they appear well built. Looks like you could fabricate a self of some kind to mount lights front, sides and back that could be an add on kit to the covers. As your a metal fabricator there is also a need for skid plates for our tractors to protect the hydraulic blocks on some units. Do a search and you will see some of the damage that can happen, especially to the Kioti and Bobcat versions with the hydraulic blocks under the right floor board.

Powerscol- I wish we could, but we do not sell directly to the public. I have printed these pages to give to my boss to see what we could do in the way of lights.
I will do the search now and see what I can find. Do you have any links available?

I'm confused. You post here looking for advice from a group that does most everything DIY, and then say you do not sell to the public? Seriously? So what are you looking for? Why are you even here? We want lights, and do them ourselves to get them right. And yes, it is mostly a snow removal issue, so you won't get that really well either being in Texas. When I got my tractor I didn't pay for the rear lights option as they would be weaker halogens. Instead I got LEDs and put them in myself which are awesome. Now I need to find the time to exchange the front halogens for the extra LEDs I got at the same time, but I am building a house, so no time for that now. I look forward to the day when I can do projects like that.

I understand wanting customer market input, but then saying "thanks for the input but we won't service you?" Poor form. Knowing that upfront, you response rate would have been zero, other than the people who wanted to tell you to fly a kite...

In Ohio right now it is dark at 530 pm. If you have a job during the day, you have no other choice.

Obvious use is for loader work for people who work with their tractors in the dark.

Two on the front lip, two on the back.

If you did Agricultural tractors, hazard lights would be nice (highway use)

The main issue I see is attaching the lights to the tractor. (wiring) This may be beyond the capabilities of some people, or the electrical might not cope with it (less likely with LED)

I understand that most in this group are those that prefer DIY ( I am one myself) and unfortunately we do not sell to the public. That's not to say we never will, but at this time we don't. I believe the reason in me coming here was to get information from the people that use the product everyday. I think that if I ask a farmer or rancher, "Hey, what do you think about this..." that I am going to get a more honest and upfront answer than if I were to ask a dealer. We aren't here to make products for the dealer, we are here to make products for the people of this lifestyle.
There are some that do not have the option of doing it themselves. There are many that would benefit from different things being added to the canopy. If this forum isn't something that interest you then by all means passing up on reading it is a option that presents itself.

We are a manufacturing company that doesn't care about the income we make as much as knowing that our product makes life just a little easier. We also can provide the contact information for a dealer in your area that would have the product you're looking for.

I want to thank each and every one of you for the information that has been provided thus far. It has been very useful and helpful, not only to me, but for the information I can pass on the the owner of this company on improvements we can make to our product.

Just because your a wholesaler does not mean you cannot sell directly to the public. Many wholesalers do sell direct. The found a way somehow. My tire chain supplier is a wholesalers, but also has a web page open to the public with contact information, so I can be done.

Farmer498 makes a good point. If you decide to add the light to your canopy's, put in a plug and play waterproof harness to make it easier. When I shopped for my light bar, the fact the bar came with a long harness made a difference in what I bought.
Hope this helps

I don't see any problem with a manufacturer to do research here - whether or not they sell directly to the public. Their products are eventually bought by the general public and manufacturers have reason to offer what we want. That takes some sort of research.

I think this is inappropriate. We get products from dealers who get them from manufacturers who have decided there is a market. We all eagerly read the posts from the people who build and fabricate things but on the whole, I would guess most of us buy a lot of stuff. I'm in awe of the guys who build their own cabs but I bought an Original Tractor Cab unit. They have a light option but it's just front halogen lights. if they had offered front and rear LEDs I might have paid the money instead of fabricating my own.

Some farmers are using LED lights to avoid the heat of the day and to get production in to beat the weather. SO I would say it is not just a snow thing. I would like to see a cab or canopy with multiple smaller lights that can be aimed depending on the task at hand. If doing loader work you need to see fairly close to the front of the tractor. For mowing, you also need to see to the side and rear. For snow plowing, you need to be able to see further away as the travel speed is usually higher. The light needed can vary so having multiple lights with different patters that can be aimed as needed would be a huge advantage. Check out the video by rigid for some additional ideas of how lights are used.
