Bent SSQA on Kubota...

I guess I am confused not for the first time. Oh well. I guess I have to go out and bend mine then take a look!

kubota should really have a more positive lock than their cam action on the lever lock down on each side to avoid twisting the torsion bar under load if one lever is unlocked. hopefully an easy fix on your part as described in above info. otherwise the bar is an expensive replacement part (1 k on my model) thankfully that i avoided by adjusting as described above. go bungee to secure each lever after attaching various implements. sometimes primitive is better....

I've twisted my cross member a couple of times on different tractors. Happens to me when moving brush with the forks......a piece will flip one side up, and it comes loose from the pocket, and I don't catch it....by the time I do, I've twisted the cross member.

My previous one, the cross member was a simply piece of angle iron, and I was able to bump one side against a tree and re-align the two 'faces' that way.

My current one uses a piece of 1 1/2" pipe welded on each side....no amount of bumping moved it much, so I simply cut the pipe in the center with a metal cutting wheel on a hand held grinder, re-aligned it, and welded the cut back. Took 10 minutes.

Much the same experience for me except it took me twenty minutes to cut an weld. I used one of my attachments for a jig

Here it is before I straightened it. I chained it to a telephone pole (one I own) and it is good as new. Didn't get an after photo.

Yep, very common "bend". Glad you got it figured out. It'll happen again. Now you know it's not a catastrophic failure. Nice work!!!!

I bent one side in my Kubota, one side came unlatches I didn't know it, I was pushing on a stump did $500 dollars damage , after that I put a set if safety chains to prevent it from happen again, another note we have a young man kill here when a hay spear came off the ssqa and hit him in the head, I love the ssqa quick hitch but please be careful they can be dangerous.

I'm guessing it flipped over the top. That's a horrible way to go.

No didn't flip over the top the hay spear came off the Ssqa it was not hooked proper to the ssqa, the young man was under it, I am just saying always be careful using the different attachment double check and make sure the are hooked up correct. It was a SSQA hay spear, they thought it was hooked up good but it came off.
