Who makes those side racks? Does it effect the dump bed functionality?

Ive been looking for a simple solution to add some removable wood sideboards, like you see on a pickup.

I just made them one afternoon. The bed will dump the same as normal and they will stay attached but you can take the top bar off (toolless screw on each side) and they will lift right off. They are made with 1"x1" steel ⅛" square tube steel and have sets of tool holders on the side. I can hook a shovel and rake and they stay put and just hang out past the end of the bed. On the other side, I have a basket for my chainsaw oil and gas. I was thinking of making a few other things but I figure I will mess with it this winter when I have time. I used Kawasaki mounts to attach the top bar, the basket, etc. The box in the bed is also a Kawaski box with the same mount and it fits perfectly on the side of my little Kubota.

I will try and get a better photo later today.

I really like side rack set up. Did you have to pay extra for the metal mesh? Mine came with it. Kinda like the look of your tailgate too. Any chance of more pictures including your chainsaw/supplies holder? Really appreciate it. And how is it mounted to the dump bed? I might try something like this come winter.

Had it in the house garage and snapped a few photos. The headache rack is OEM Kubota but the rest is stuff I cobbled together or reused from other machines and such. The orange things on the side are tool holders and work really well for racks, shovels, etc. Hope it helps.

I know, when I first saw them, I thought about trying to make them myself to save some $, but they are just so well made and work so well, I decided $20 apiece was worth it.

I've got 2 more that I'm going to use to hold a tool rack that attaches to the top of the bed extender someday....

Agreed, they work perfectly. I have two more left so I want to work on some more rack accessories this winter. Just makes the SxS even more handy.

Code54, I notice that the ends of the screws for your tool holders are protruding on the inside of your rack, which can be painful if you accidentally hit them. The way I avoided exposed bolts on my carryall was by drilling holes in the exposed side that are big enough to get a socket into the right size for the nut and then use shorter bolts.

That way, the bolts are inside the tube and not a hazard. The holes aren't really big enough to affect the structural integrity that much. Just a suggestion, but sure has saved my shins and pant legs.

Code54, couple of questions:
1. How is your rack attached to the bed, does it employ existing mounting points or did you have to drill?
2. Where did you get the red tool holders, Amazon?

Really like your rack system, nice job.

Lights, stereo sound system, a windshield, and a mirror. I put an Audioformz top on my 4010 that came with lights and stereo, simple 2 wire hookup, power and a ground.

Randy, where did you get your windshield from?

Here are the mounts from Amazon

The racks just sit down in the factory "stake" pockets on the machine. They go really deep on the Kubota so by sliding them in and adding the cross brace they won't move. I can load the bed with firewood and dump it and they don't slip or come loose. (We have the Elec. dump so it is really handy).

As for the bolt heads- thanks for the suggestion. I was planning on cutting them off and adding acorn nuts but honestly sort of forgot about it. I do need to get them taken care of!

If you do your own work, how about a mechanic's helper?
