Best brake system for dual tandem gooseneck trailer

I'm not sold on Torsion. I have had a few trailers with it and while they ride nice there is no way to balance the load between axles. I have seen more bent axles with torsion due to this.

Torsion axles bend because the swing arms cant take the lateral loads, especially when pulling a three axle trailer around a kerbstone: The friction of two axles are pushing one axle against a kerb, and that usually bends the swing arm of the first axle. Torsion suspension is generally designed to take a 200% overload when negotiating obstacles, which means three axle trailers with torsion suspension arent a good idea.

I did pick up two used axles last week. Dexter Axle P-12 Model SLR
on a tag on each axle. No drums, brakes, tires or wheels but there is a ring welded to the axle to bolt the drum brake backing plate to. The axles are old but I think barely used. One axle is bolted to a 4'x4' box metal frame that I think was used as a dolly. New seals, o-rings, gear oil, chasing the threaded holes and the axles will be fine. And the best part the axles hub face and spring pad measurements are exactly the same as the Reliable axles.
I found one brake conversion source at lugnut4x4. He sells drum brake to disc brake conversion kits geared toward the offroad market. He does have a kit for dual rear wheel axles. I'll check with Dexter to see
what they offer as a conversion kit.
