I have worn out more chain saws than I can remember. I currently have seven running saws. 3 are STHIL 36" 24" 18" one Jonsred (spelling)24" No repair here in Florida area for, One 32"Sears (Poulan?), 1 24"poulan and an 18"craftman electric.
My advice is to have more than one saw. If you buy the largest STHIL you can afford it will cut all heavy cuts. Wear out any new cheaper saw which cut great when new and last as well. Ive worn out several 130-150 saws. I suggest box store sale Poulan woodsman etc..
The smaller saw works alot better on a ladder or climbing or small branches.
I also have a $90.00 electric that is great for smaller jobs.
