Hey everyone.

Plan on doing various work with my new 1026R. Box Blading, pulling lifting, etc. I am also going to be pulling a small trailer with it for landscaping needs and firewood.

What is the absolute best method of hitch for trailer on a tractor? Is a Draw bar the way to go? Fast and quick to put on, and have multiple attachments on it? Ball, hook, Pin attachment? Ur should I stay away from pulling with the draw Bar? Just looking for a fast alternative when I pull the box blade off or Ballast box and need to quickly attach a trailer.

You can just put a ball on the drawbar, but generally the 3-pt arms will get in the way, especially when turning corners, and it can be a pain to deal with different size hitches/balls.

For convenience, look into a hitch frame for the 3-pt arms. You just back up to the trailer and lift up the ball with the 3-pt. It's real slick. There are many options around, some more capable than others. Most accept a standard 2" drawbar. I use one of these:

I then have a 2" drawbar with 1-7/8", 2", and 2-5/16" balls welded on, to cover all bases. That hitch frame also has a chain hook welded on, and is great for skidding logs.

Whenever pulling from the 3-pt, just be careful as the raised pulling point will make the tractor easier to flip backward if something gets hung up. Shouldn't be a big concern when towing trailers.

Hmmm I kinda like that setup. Lol, I know thats gonna run me much more than a drawbar but willing to come up with the money for it. Where did you get yours?

I got it from eBay, from that actual guy in the video (he makes/sells them):

Heavy Duty Three Point Tractor Trailer Hitch | eBay

For $20 less, you can get it without the chain hook.

I've seen similar products from about $75-150, all with various plusses and minuses. Northern Tool sells a bunch of different options:

Power Takeoff (PTO) + 3-Point Hitch Hardware | Farm + Acreage | Northern Tool + Equipment

Like the setup on that e-bay model. I use a simpler version similar to the Northern Tools model on my JD 2305. A member called "rambler" brought up a good point on safety with these hitches: "The other issue is a safety issue. If the trailer gets tail-heavy, or you come down a steep hill and try to stop, the 3pt hitch can rear up and slam upwards pretty badly, damaging something or jacknifing the tractor or at least startling the heck out of you. Best to use a short chain from the 3pt hitch to the regular drawbar to limit the upward movement of the 3pt hitch." - see reply #5 http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/owning-operating/237841-3-point-hitch-draw-bar.html

Has anyone used this hit setup with a Hitchmout/tailgate mount Meyer Salt broadcaster?
This is a link to the model and style:
Meyer Products 3-Pt. Hitch Kit, Model# 36500 | Tailgate Salt Spreaders| Northern Tool + Equipment
I am wondering if you would get the required clearance and if it would hold the unit steady enough to allow the broadcasting to occur properly and not take a toll on the spreader. I wanted to forgo the $300 Hitch Kit assembly for the spreader and just mount it to a ball hitch.
It would probably bounce all over the place though...
