Best Home Defense Rifle?

You have absolutely no clue what your are talking about. The communistic government I lived under spared no effort to disarm citizen good or crooks. Actually they went further, they made sure they kill or destroy those who would rise against it. Did it take guns from hands of the bad guys? Not at all. Did it make it better world for all of us? Nope and you would know it too if you just did a minimum of reading before making statements like this. Limiting freedom never ever helped the civilization - but it is kind of hard to see it from your already limited world.

A common problem with us American's is that a lot of us have never lived for long periods of time anywhere else in the world.

I truly believe one must have the experience to live elsewhere to fully appreciate and understand how great a country we have.

I really do appreciate ALL of the comments, thoughts, and understanding of possible situations. I find it quite amusing about the naive attitude of some that obviously have seen very little in the world besides going down to THEIR particular main street. Some of us have seen how the world really works and believe in preparation for any situation. Do nukes as a deterent work? HMMMMM though we never popped one off since 1945 showing that we WOULD use them, those that have them bluster; but dont dare use them on us or our friends. At any rate, I hesitate to get into ANY of the anarchy scenarios as having a strong background in the communication intercept/analysis industry, I KNOW that statements on places like this are automatically flagged by computers and added to THE LIST. Keeping my head down and watching my back goes right in there with keeping my mouth shut.

Right now, an M 14, M 1, or Springfield are high on my list. I really prefer to be able to reach out before THEY get to where my kids can hit them with clods.........

I know what you mean about sites being flagged and big brother watching. It's all good. He's been watching for years, I don't have anything to hide. I'm law abiding and as stated earlier, don't like friction.

I'll tell ya though, since I sold all my weapons, ammunition, magazines and such I don't sleep as well at night. My wife bought me lavendar incense, put up on of those little water falling into a pond deals and we have Kumbaya playing on low in the background. Nothing seems to help.

I am glad that my coffee mug was empty or I would have spewed coffee all over my computer.

You might want to try a scented candle or two. Maybe three or four. That might help calm your nerves so you can sleep.

Or maybe you are going through withdrawal for what you sold..... Too late to buy them back?

For years I have wanted a Ruger mini 14 or a 30, just did not have the extra cash. Now that I'm wanting one again, everything is crazy and I sure can't afford one now. I guess I'll have to protect with my trusty 30-30. I looked at a 1917 Enfield rifle yesterday for $650, the gun craze is going strong. JC
