HD research the undercarriage parts and maintenance costs of the ASV machine's u/c. Just the amount of parts is staggering.
Secondly, short of actual "flotation", steel over the tire tracks is superior in traction in the woods to any rubber track tread style available.
Metal over the tire tracks, especially the "Grouser" brand will not clog up even with clayish soils.
The ASV u/c does a great job distributing the machines weight over the
whole track as it was originally developed for snow use on a utility vehicle. That comes with an massive number of rollers, axles and bearings, all wear parts. Just the track drive "cage" (where all of the others use a simple sprocket) probably has close to 50 parts!
I have friends that sold/traded their Cat machines (7 series) with the ASV u/c rather than rebuild it due to the cost.
No doubt that ASV pretty much owns the high flow and hp race along with the comfortable ride, but that comes with a price.
If that ASV your renting spent it's life with a mulcher on it.... I've heard more than one guy say the hours mulching is like dog years, Multiply the shown hours by 7!
Grouser makes dozer blades, skid steer tracks, land levelers & more for agricultural, construction & snow removal needs. View our bar tire tracks here.

You can't run these around the lawn but no rubber track will follow them through the woods.
