Best Log Skidding solution

I've read a ton of threads here and elsewhere for skidding logs out of the woods with a tractor. I have a 45hp New holland. The options seem to range from expensive attachments to a harbor freight quick hitch. I want this to work well, and be safe, but i am not skidding large logs, or large amounts of logs. Is there any consensus of the "best" way to do this with a machine of this size and relatively low volume of work to do.
Just about every time I have used the tractor in the Bush/woods. Some stick manages to poke it痴 way into some near impossible angle into something vital causing damage .

Taken in the context of the OP's question, who's going to spend $3000 to bring out $800 worth of wood? Last year after a whiplash forced me to cut my 230 foot cable in half I was indeed carrying 125 feet of cable to extend the 100 feet remaining. I also dragged a 20 foot chain to bring it out even further. My snatch block was at the end of the length attached to the winch, and after dragging enough for a twitch I would then reconnect and drag them to the tractor. In years past when money was tight I used a similar method to cut 10 cord loads of pulpwood; it was a slow process but not everybody has an overabundance of money so we do what we have to do.
Who............ I am and I did, best purchase for a tractor that can be made for getting out wood, and that $800.00/year times 30 years equals a great investment AND taken in the context of the thread title BEST BEST BEST = = = pto winch.

I have gotten out wood just about every way there is in the past 50 years, from a little red wagon to grapple skidders, pto winch is BEST for home use.

He did not say that, you're taking it out of context. Reread his entire post, not just what you want to see... Whatever, this is a pointless discussion.

I'm going by thread title not context of what who or anyone else said, is that suborn enough for you..............Only pointless when anyone ignores thread title.

I pulled tree length wood out for a few years with the exact tractor the OP has, I made a kind of three point hitch arch and went to Laboneville and bought a set of logging tonges, I got it so I could drop the hitch over a butt and get the tonges to grab it without getting off the tractor, worked pretty good..

People could've told me that 12 years ago to cause all I was getting out was 7 cord of firewood/year, still say pto winch is a good investment. Now with shingle mill and lumber mill it's even better of an investment, my winch has paid for it self many time over in just 12 years, and still going by thread title, BEST.
