Put my vote in for the 6025, it is a big brother to the 5525. The platform may not be the most refined but this is a good simple tractor that in over a year our KISS(Keep it simple senor) people haven't been able to break and they break EVERYTHING.

The other tractors such as the 00 and 20 series may have more gears, and features. If you are looking for bang for the buck and durability i think you would be hard pressed to beat the 6025. I would hay and do anything that I wouldn't need 90hp to do with this tractor.

Cheers,

Linn

Thanks for the contact info Brandi. I will try to give them a call tomorrow afternoon. Those are neat tractors. I have never set on a Mahindra yet. I did a dealer serch and there are a couple of dealers within 80 miles. I plan on going to the Louisville Farm Show in Febuary. I know they will have one there.

HHH are not my intials. I don't always proof read my typing like I should. It should be HHM. ;)

First name is John. :)

No fire ants in Indiana that I am aware of. What do they do to a hay field?
It must be too cold for them. We were 8 deg yesterday morning and that is starting to get to cold for me. It is getting cold early this year. We have snow on the ground and those round bales in picture above are already feed. Hay is going fast.

Talk to you later.
Any hay operation in the pasture will disturb the fire ants mound (nest). Then they will migrate the mound into the bales. Think about 4-5,000 ants in your hay bale that want to bite you and anything eating your hay.

Mean little devils! I am glad they haven't migrated this far north yet.

I was mowing hay and ran over a bees nest 20 years ago and learned just how far bees can chase you. A very long way. ;)

You know HHH, I have never heard of Hoosier Hay. Is this a regional hay?
My dealer has a sweet used 7520 for sale down here in Conroe Texas. It belongs to the service manager. A lot of folks go with the 7520 instead of the 6520 for larger round balers. He and the salesman run a hay operation down here and need to sale the 7520 to pay a repair bill he has on his cabbed New Holland. The 7520 has the ML276 loader and about 300-350 hours on it. It is a 2007 model and was bought just after I bought my 6520. I think he wants $24,500.00. It also has hyd. lines from the rear remote up to the loader. He used it to power a bale accumulator/stacker.

I just got an email from the salesman, Travis, and he stated the service manager, Tim, wants $26,000.00 for the 7520, but it comes with a quick attach bale spear.:) Talk to either of these guys when you call. Also, the hydraulic lines ran from the remote to the loader are around 3/4 inch in diameter.

I like the idea of a bale quicktach spear. I am using an old Oliver with a loader with a bolt on spear. It does the trick, but it has slow hydraulics and I can't double stack the round bales on my trailer. I couldn't believe it I filled my off road diesel tanks for $2.09 a gallon:). Last summer I paid $4.30.

That leads to another question. How are the 20 series on fuel?

My 6520 sips fuel unless I am at full throttle running my 511 backhoe. But you won't have that problem as the hydraulic pump on the 7520 is 17gpm .vs 11gpm on my 6520. Otherwise, even running at just under 2000 rpm while mowing, it just sips fuel. Even less than my old Ford 3055!
I just filled my truck up for $2.32 a gallon, so my off road fuel should be lower than that!:D
