I've had decent service from several tires;
Coopers Discoverer AT3 LT,
My current summer tires are Hankook Dynapro AT M,

But I haven't seen many empty trucks with a snow plow hanging off the nose that didn't spin easily in 2 wd.

Spun without the blade attached...

I put these on my 3/4 ton and was very happy with the winter traction.
Open Country A/T II | All-Terrain Tires for Trucks, SUVs and Crossover | Toyo Tires

Didnt need to use 4WD most of the time with them, only needed 4WD when off roading in deep snow. The OEM BFGs had zero traction in comparison.

Our local electrical utility puts them on their trucks. Good price and good traction.

Thank You. That is a Good Looking (good specs also) tire.

Thank you very much.

Be well,
David

As others have eluded to, mud and snow take totally different tires. Good snow tires suck in mud and good mud tires suck in snow.

So whatever you choose is gonna be a compromise and one end or the other. But it sounds as if you are leaning more toward mud performance with something that is "acceptable" for an occasional snow.

I am a big mastercraft fan. Good american tires without the Michelin pricetag.

Since I do only road and snow, I like these Courser HXT

But for what you want....consider the CXT's Courser CXT

or if you want a little better in mud while sacrificing a little on the snow/highway driving, look at the MXT's Courser MXT

Ambulances where I live run Blizzaks all year round. I assume they've tried others.

Those look pretty good (I like the MXT better).

Yes, Mud will be constant, snow will be occasional (but it stops everything else - I can't get up my driveway to go to work for example). Amazon has them at a good price it seems.

Thank you!

Those Mastercraft tires look decent,
the CXT looks good for all around.
The MXT reminds me of the last Coopers I bought,
they were the Discover ST Max a good tire in the mud, not very good in the snow,
and about the worst studding pattern I have seen in many years.
I ran them one winter and sold them used.
I actually sent Cooper an email about them which they failed to even acknowledge.
I had run Cooper Discover M+S studded tires for many years, since then not a one.
I have switched over to Nokia snows with studs expensive but the best I've used in wet snow pack and ice.

I too am a Mastercraft fan I have had 3 sets on my 99 Dodge 2500 2 have been the CT which is what the CXT used to be the present set are AXT which I can't get any life out of. The guys that put the tires on where I get mine like the MXT and they are all made by Cooper, they are a little soft but they are great in the rain.

That makes a ton of sense for pavement...

The Blizzaks are fantastic for snow and ice. My work van got a set on it and Holy Cow were they great. I never tried them on mud, but I'm betting they weren't worth a bucket of hot garbage in the mud.
