Best Oil For A Kawasaki Engine

More ado , discussions and worry about motor oil than what is justified.
Just because it's labelled synthetic doesn't mean it is. Castrol etc is just a super treated mineral oil. Mobile 1, Amsoil, royal Purple and Lubrication engineers is real synthetic.
Synthetic is for extreme heat, extreme cold or extreme pressure.
There is low ash and regular lube oils. Don't mix them up.

Wait or don't. Synthetic or not, partial synthetic or full. It's an expensive mower engine, and Kawasakis are excellent engines. Regular oil AND filter changes are what's most important. Changing filter every other season? No, do it every time you change the oil. The objective of the filter is to grab dirt, condensation, particulate matter from the oil as it passes through. Change both every time. Fresh oil in a dirty filter? Duh.

X2... Proper and regular maintenance is what's important. Also, It amazes me to hear people state that synthetic oil reversed the existing ailments of their engines. I guess I'm just lucky with using regular oil. In 6 decades I've never had a piece of equipment outlast a well maintained engine.

I can't disagree with your post. The most important thing is REGULAR maintenance which includes oil filter change, valve adjustment (if required) and religious air cleaner service. I use amzoil in my mowers and field mowers, and although to me they seemed to run smoother and quieter I can't honestly say that there is much difference from a premium conventional oil. Synthetic may be overkill but I can't afford another mower so I want to keep the one I have running for as long as possible.

What junior synthetic oil sales pusher dug up this pedestrian 2 year old thread?

That would be MSPARKS - the thread had relevance to the question.

I just purchased a Gravely Pro-Turn 152 XDZ mower with a commercial Kawasaki FX691V 22hp engine. I have always had Briggs & Stratton mower engines and used the SAE30 B & S oil with very good results(never had any oil leaks or consumption). A buddy of mine with a six year old Gravley 260 with the commercial FH721V 25hp Kaw engine says he ran Mobil1 10w30(non-synthetic) for the first year, then switched to Mobil1 10w30 synthetic(upon the Gravely dealer's advice). The manual on my Kaw engine states:"Using multi-grade oils(5w20,10w30 and 10w40) will increase oil consumption. Check oil level more frequently when using them." so I am again inclined to use the SAE30, but not real sure. For my truck and cars I have ALWAYS run Pennzoil 10w30(again with excellent results) and I'm certain that Pennzoil has a SAE30 oil. Any advice that will help me keep this Kawasaki engine "like new" for the next decade or so?????

OH! You have troubles now! Kawasaki engines are SPECIAL! They are made from costlium and unobtainium metals that require VERY specific and SPECIAL lubricants.

I know! I have a lawn mower with a Kawasaki engine!

In it I use ONLY lubricants that are aged in under ground repositories for thousands of years. These lubricants have been formualated from plants that are most rare and exotic. In fact, they are not even grown at present.

Some say the repositories are ammended with the flesh and bones of ancient animals!

Simplified?

Dino oil works fine.

The cheapest "Good" brand, if changed regularly, will keep your engine happy for a long, long time.

Oh! Pennzoil sucks! ;-)

I tend to agree but I use blended syn/dino to get a measure of syn protection.

Put synthetic in an old Gravely Kohler. Stopped using oil after the 3rd change.
