The cylinders would move too fast for fine adjustments with light loads, and same went in float mode. Whatever size restrictor he used I'm very happy with it looks to be about .035"
Lots of ways to do it. It can be an extra fitting with a small hole. My TnT hoses from FitRite have the restrictor built into a fitting on the hose. There are external adjustable needle valves. Some people basically put a washer in the hose, although I'm not a fan of something that could come loose.Where can you buy those? Do they install inside the hose fittings or are they external?
