ok what is a good radio to buy for a tractor, a normal car fm radio would work right?
i need 3 of them, only interested in the am/fm radio, nothing else, something i can install myself thats easy to replace my am radio in tractor, and cheap but will work as long as any radio for a long time
also would like a sirius adaptor fm, i heard they elimate any static, is there a place on ebay where i can buy all this stuff right away instead of ordering from several places

yeS a normal radio would work in the tractor. Only problem would be finding a way to mount it so it didnt get wet. Do you have a cab or a canopy? Thats one way where a jobsite radio would work, not only are they water resistant (most of them) but you can take it in when it rains or you store the tractor.
I dont think you can even buy a AM/FM only radio anymore, only ones with a cd player. Check walmart or similar retailers.
The Fm modulators are pretty good.
THere are a couple different kinds, one is hard wired the other is wireless.
Wireless would be more convienant as you can take it from vehicle to vehicle. It would also be cheaper because you'd require a hard wire adapter for each vehicle.
You would need a 12V cig lighter outlet to power the wireless.

Another option would be headphones, if your sirius is compatible. Personally i dont like headphones because you cant hear whats going on around you, and i think they're illegal to wear in cars.

YOur tractor has a radio and speakers now? If so just remove the old radio and install a new AM/ FM. Your radio should be receiving its power from the tractors wiring harness.
The cig plug is just there to power the transmitter that the modulator uses to send the music from your sirius to the tractor radio. If you look at the link i posted youll see what i mean. The modulator i linked to will also charge your sirius at the same time so you wont need the 12v cord that came with your sirius anymore.

the link you posted for ebay, this might work better for me seeing how i have SEVERAL trucks and tractors i work with, instead of installing a fm radio in everyone of them i could just use this right?

To work with the WIRELESS system you need a FM radio. THis means that youll have to remove the am radio from your tractor and buy a new AM/ FM.
Youll need a FM radio in EVERY vehicle that you want to have Sirius in.
A modulator is NOT a FM radio. Its a FM TRANSMITTER...It doesnt receive Fm only transmits.
For multiple vehicles , like you have, a wireless system is best because you can move it from vehicle to vehicle, but each vehicle needs a FM capable radio in it.
Even the hard wired ones require a radio capable of receiving FM.
As i do not have a Sirrius radio, I do not have any hands on with the particular model i linked to on ebay, however they all work basically the same way. THe one i use with my ipod is made by Belkin.
