Just like you say... I work in retail and deal with arguementive folks all day... about the last thing I want to do is watch some more arguing. I want to see somthing inventive, slick, or at the very least clever.
Since I've climbed on to the soapbox,
Modern Marvels is a perfect example of a good show. Major building projects, Golden Gate Bridge, Hoover Dam, Panama Canal. I find these structures awe inspiring, epic... To think these massive projects were completed by average fellas doin' their thing everyday simply amazing.
Watching a father and son argue about the same things every show while the employees do impressive things with metal in the background is not entertaining to me.
I find it ironic that the most interesting motorcycle on the show was built by the lead mechanic and the shop "slacker" while the owner and the "chief designer" were away.
