Rotary Cutter Best Rotary Cutter?

Here we go again.....
If you are just occasionally mowing grass, like tall lawn grass, then just about any mower will be fine.
If youre into commercial or custom mowing like me, John Deere all the way. Excellent gearboxes, not one gearbox repair in 25 years. After each year I change gearbox oil and it runs out clean.
Their Dual deck design and excellent JD paint keeps them looking great for decades. I cut over 1000 acres a year with both of mine. Thats a mix of tall fields for existing contracts and clearing brush for new contracts.
Have also owned Woods good, heavy mowers, but single deck design and 3rd rate paint jobs and the deck will look terrible after sustained heavy brush mowing. Bush Hog and Rhino also good choices and fine machines.

I’d rate Deere, BH and Rhino as best followed by Woods among the big brands.
But what do I know? Im just some guy who cuts lawns.......

I've stayed away from anything Bad Boy sells due to their flashy exaggerated claims. That started with their zero turn mowers and continues through these rotary cutters. There are plenty of quality designed and built rotary mowers out there that don't need bolt on reinforcements as an afterthought.

I’m surprised Rhino hasn’t been mentioned. They are in the same class as Bush Hog. Don’t overlook them.

All of these manufacturers have different lines/levels of cutters. Sort of like the old “Good/Better/Best” in the old Sears catalog. Make sure you’re comparing apples to apples.

My TW26 has the cable holding the chains.
DO not see that as an issue.
My only experience such as it is has been Rhino.
ALl the reading done hear, it's on par with Woods and Bush Hog.

"best" is a trap of over thinking every topic life throws at us.......If it's in your budget and a local dealer is around for support and you not into commercial mowing....that one is your 'best' mower.....:2cents:

I've been using a Fred Cain Agricutter Fred Cain Agricutter Dovetail Rotary Cutters with Shear Bolt for many years and it has proven reliable.
