Buying Advice Best small tractor or garden tractor for slopes

Like riding in circles on the side of a hill? Lol

My neighbors was over grown and 6ft tall of black raspberry bushes and saplings, I cut out all the saplings on the hill and left half a dozen on flatter ground, I never asked lol but I wasn't gonna cut around all those saplings.

Another thing is how many grease zerks do you have? 4 up front and one on each spindle of the deck? I read that there was one for the steering gears but was at work and didn't have time to read more about it, I deff don't want to overlook any zerks. And I don't have a owners manual.

The previous owner didn't grease the hub zerks on my husky, it was squeaking the last time I mowed (end of last year), I put new blades on it this year ($32 off Amazon shipped to my door for all 3) and greased all the zerks (hubs took 15 pumps each lmao), that Ariens has the same number, 4 up front and on spindles for the deck.

I haven't been able to find anymore zerks.

I'm just happy to be able to mow it without hours of weed-whacking. Mine has a steering gear zerk, one on each front spindle, one on each front wheel, and one on each spindle = eight total.

Try Husqvarna Lawn Mower User Manuals Download - ManualsLib for a manual. There's over 1500 there.

Any one have experience with a Farmall Cub Lowboy Tractor, watched some videos and read some points. I"m not sure how it would handle a hill/slope if you mowed up and down and not side to side. I think any mowing I'm going to do will be up and down until I get to the top of the hill.

Some mfgrs don't want you mowing up and down, especially heavy units with turf tires on 30% grade slopes with the grass damp or worse. Going down, trying to keep your speed slow and the mower under control is applying the brakes or letting off the ZT levers thus stopping drive to the rears but the tires can't get traction so they just slide down the hill. BTDT in non hazardous area like: In my case, mowing my pond bank, the bottom of the fill (on the down hill side of the pond) stays moist due to seepage which is great for trees to grow but keeps everything somewhat damp below the pond water level. Sliding down a hill could put me straddle of one so I mow sideways with my snow studs, light weight (as I can get) mower.

I stumbled across the site while searching for a parts manual. Pretty nice that they provide so many manuals for free download, glad you found yours!

I had to use the manual today lmao. I got most of all my mowing done, just a little left on back by the pasture but a pulley idler bearing gave out on me. $15 a pop, I ordered 2 off Amazon along with a spare stationary idler.

Total $67 to the door for x2: 532 19 61-06 (Pully Idler), x1: 532 19 61-04 (Stationary Pully Idler). I'm just gonna replace all the non grease able pullys and have 2 used pullys as a spare.

I'll re pack what I can. Deck was super easy to take off, just 5 clips, needle nose pliers is all I needed. Less than 5 mins and it was out.

I still don't see where the grease zerk is for the steering gears, the gears on mine is exposed and I don't see where they can be greased.

I think I might repaint my deck since I have it off, it's got some paint peeling. She has 241.3 hours on her now.

I'm super happy with the availability of parts on this mower, so far I have bought everything off Amazon with free shipping. Parts are crazy cheap also. New blades cut like a dream, my grass is literally perfect lol, still super pleased with the husky. IMG_7409.JPGIMG_7410.JPGIMG_7412.JPGIMG_7408.JPGIMG_7407.JPG

A 30% grade is only 16.7 degrees. Not too bad even sidehill.

This is 33.5% or 18 degrees.

Xfaxman, is that your property?

Technically no, but it is on our property.

It is a flood control dam built in 1960 by the Logan County Soil Conservation District with the assistance of the Soil Conservation Service of the USDA.

Taken from the driveway on top of the dam, after a 4" rain last week:

Wow! Guess it's a good thing it's there.

I was thinking baling the forages instead of mowing depending on what's growing.
