Best store purchased spiral ham?

A fresh ham, cured for a number of days in a brine filled wooden barrel and the smoked with willow wood is sorta my idea of ham. Don't know what spiral cut ham is.

For breakfast some scrambled eggs mixed with morels and the above diced ham and pan fried potatoes are one of my favorite breakfast foods. Been years since that was possible.

Not spiral cut, but turner hams in fulks run Virginia has the best non saltie country hams. Don't know if they ship? Second best is Gayles Market, Penn Laird Virginia, a little salty located about half mile from me. Nice mom/pop country store and I think they will ship.

With the way this one was heated/cooked it just about has to be dried out, it allowed the layer to separate.

I looks like it wasn't cooked correctly. The instructions on ours said to wrap it in foil, put it cut side down and heat it at 250 for an hour and a half. That one looks like it was layed on its side, on a rack, not wrapped, etc...

Since spiral cut hams are precooked; all we do is take the meat off the bone, put it on serving platters, cover with plastic wrap and nuke for a few minutes until it's at serving temp. This way it doesn't dry out.

We buy our hams from Costco often they have coupons for $5.00 off.

We do not use the 'sauce' packet that comes with the ham, it's awfull

OP here with the update: The Meijers brand spiral ham we purchased weighed 10 pounds and cost $2.49 per pound, we wrapped it in a Reynolds oven bag and cooked it at 300 degrees for the recommended 15 minutes per pound (2 1/2 hours) and it was incredibly moist and juicy. All our guests raved about the flavor and wanted to know where we got it. This morning we went to the store and purchased two more...they are THAT tasty and have little fat.
