I think the talons look like the best option. Every skidder I have ever seen either runs bear paws (there are three classes, economical, normal, and tight spacing) with 3/4" lugs on them and the net chains with studs of some variety. The bear paws are more expensive for my tractor so I'm leaning towards the talons even though they are around $1k for 16.9-30 on my 5083E. I have duo-grip v-bars on the fronts and I'm looking for more chain since I took a heck of a ride last year with them. We run 2 link v-bars on our L3400 on the fronts only and it makes all the difference in the world on the R-4 tires since the lugs aren't deep enough to hide the chains.
