I can't mount my tractor(s) unless I've got my Timberland workboots on. Just seems wrong, if I'm wearing sneakers or anything else. I have push-mowed or walked-behind our Gravely with sneakers, for added comfort over time, but it's probably true that it's at these times I should have the boots on, moreso than when on the tractor!

Since you always say "snow? what's that?" ...

Just you wait, they're headed your way! While on the other hand, what with global warming and all, we'll never have real winter down here. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I wear Wellingtons with two pair of socks.

They are comfortable, waterproof, slip on and off easily, warm , and are high enough I don't have to worry about ticks, bugs, or sticks jabbing me in the ankle or lower leg.

I get them on line through Wearguard.

PS. As I get older I like the fact they go on and off easy. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Steel toed workboots here too, I'd say always wear them but there was that one day many, many years ago that I was fencing and ended up soaking my boots in a low, swampy area of bush. Decided to wear running shoes the rest of the day while workboots were drying and was pulling some steel grader blades out of a pickup when one caught my shirt and stopped going forward and dropped onto my toes, cutting halfway through my big toe. That pretty well sums up the only time I've had a foot injury.

I wear either low cut steel toe shoes or my hiking boots with steel toes. In test driving tractors lately, I wore my low cut steel toe shoes.

Normally, that'll be ALL I have on. Wear eye and ear protection though and usually have a sweat band (old piece of ripped towel) around my forehead.

After breaking a foot wearing "tennis shoes" , I'm now in the habit of wearing steel toe BA Mason boots . In the winter I wear Rocky Boots as they are extremely water proof, and warm . John
