Around here we would have to burn those plies one at a time unless you have a land clearing permit, a special study done, big fans to fan the fire, etc.

We have had an entire month of 90+ degrees and no rain, so it will need to rain good and hard before we burn any piles. We will probably burn just a few at a time since more makes me nervous.

What I do to work around the regulations a bit is start one fire and get it going good. Then as it burns down a bit, feed it from another pile with a grapple. Do not let it burn down much, you want it hot. You might be surprised at how much you can burn this way with a small regulation size pile. I cannot say that I have had the number of piles you have at one time though. I would guess around 5 days of burning doing it that way.

I drop in front of the burn pile and then close the lid and push into it.

When it comes to clearing trees all my guys use those Vermeer grinders or MT55 mini-Bobcats to remove all the trees in their area. Those machines are pretty cheap to purchase and run as well as the pricing is pretty low across the board whether you go pre-owned or through a dealership. Regardless if you still wanted to save cash by financing a grinder I could help steer you in the right direction as there's plenty of benefits you could take advantage of if you financed on of those guys.

I did something similar to that this last July. While it was an over all smaller amount (probably could have lit the whole thing off at once without a permit) I had to burn it worked pretty well as the fire was hot enough that by the time it took me to go get another grapple load the prior grapple load had mostly burned down. Granted some of the material towards the end had been drying out for the last couple years, but it was still impressive.... as was the pile of ash which at the end was roughly 2.5ft high and 6-8ft in diameter, almost all of which had burned down to a fine dust/silt-like consistency.

If/when I have to burn large amounts again, I'm definitely going to keep the burn area down to something equally manageable, and just keep piling material on as the fire burns down in order to keep the heat up.

About the only thing I might change is spread out the pile of ash sooner (e.g. when the outer layers have cooled enough to walk on), as the core of the ash pile was still smoldering hot a week (or two?) later when I finally did get around to spreading the ash. This was also after a few rain storms had come through and further soaked, and partially washed down the ash pile. There was no real risk that the pile would have started an unintended fire as wet as things were (and how finely everything had burned); it's just that I don't like leaving hot things unattended (even if they are contained, and completely safe)....

On one of my properties I burned two weekends ago. Last weekend I burned some more but I did not have to light it. I stacked it with more wood and as I was piling more and more on (I did not have that much to burn), about 2 hours later it started burning on its own.

On the property that I live on I burned last Saturday. It was still smoldering so today (Tuesday) I spread the ashes a bit and it lit right up. I then tossed the ends from the edge of the fire on it and let it go. It is amazing, I have had those piles smolder for nearly a month in the past.

We are into our rainy season, zero chance it will spread.

2019 Kubota M7060HD12 - I have had it for two months and it has 100 hours on it. It is a great tractor and I highly recommend it if you are thinking about getting one.

Tire lug nuts - Two sizes; 24mm and 35mm. Bought a Tekton 24340 1/2-inch drive torque wrench for $57. Great wrench for the money.

Trees - 682 and counting.
