i've always used block as well couple 6x6s under the rear of the trailer done. i carry them with me anyway. "best" will always be subjective
I just use a set of $10 HF jack stands. I set them 2" lower than the trailer when empty but tight when loaded so the don't get binded up.

A couple of these have served me well. Some folks consider them too slow?
If the feet on the ramps are adjusted properly and the ramps are rigidly mounted to the trailer you should not have any problems even once the front tires of the vehicle/equipment pass from the ramp to the tail end of the trailer.I'll be using this method with my new trailer. Even though mine has adjustable feet on the fold-up ramps...once the front tires of the vehicle/equipment pass from the ramp to the tail end of the trailer, the feet on the ramps are useless, and the trailer starts to lift the tow vehicle.

You can get the same thing but with pins instead of crank, which is better for this application, since fine adjustment and lifting aren't needed. Just drop and stick in a pin, no cranking.
