Don't all their stuff come via container from an Asian port? When you purchase a foreign made (Asian) implement for less, you get less. Of course that attitude is what is killing domestic industry. So, go buy the hardware at TSC for less too. Keep in mid that they also came from some Asian port for the most part.

The 'for less' attitude is what will eventually break America's back, not that it hasn't already. I buy Landpride implements, manufactured right here by Americans. They may or may not use Asian fasteners but the bulk of the machine is produced here with American labor.

Don't much care what you purchase, just keep what I said in mind when you start eating raw fish with chopsticks.

China no sushi.
I do try and buy american, But i needed this and did not have the $, nor was any american flail available when I needed it.
I also try to buy local, but limited to what I can get here.
Even "amarican" made usually is not, makes me sad.

Yes generally these US based companies purchase them in container bulk...so a single spec run of say 50 units. That same spec may never be made again. It makes parts hard to come by, manuals and support virtually impossible to accurately provide.

Here is their return policy (note they have a 60d money back guarantee, BUT you arent guaranteed to get all of your money back. You will be charged 15% restock. Some "guarantee".

We offer a 60 Day Money Back Guarantee

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the “Complete Orders” link under the My Account menu, and click the Return Item(s) button. We’ll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we’ve received and processed the returned item.

1:Login and Request Return within 60 days of purchase requesting a Return Authorization Number(RAN). 2:You will be given a (RAN) item must be received within 14 days or (RAN) will be voided. 3:An inspection of items will be made to determine the condition of the item is the same as when shipped. 4: After inspection, an Email will be sent determining the Status of the Return. 5: Refund of all costs except Shipping & Damages noted upon return + 15% restock fee. NO COD’S Unauthorized Return’s Will Not Be Processed

Hopefully it doesn't come to sending it back. If so they can come get it and deal with it all!

I don't hold much hope for help from them.
The manager I spoke with said "we'll take care of it all. We stand behind it" then rushed me off the phone with a "let us know how you make out". Never even asked who I was or my order number.
So I'm on my own to replace all of the missing/bad hardware and decide whether it's worth pulling the gearbox off to repair the thread damage to the oil fill hole or call it quits on this unit.
Really disappointing.

Lesson learned I'd say. Like my buddy says 'the joy of a new and lesser priced item wears off quickly when it fails quickly'...

I've never trusted the Chinese stuff. Had a Chinese chipper once long ago and basically rebuilt it to get it to work properly. One time was enough for me.

Yea, pretty disappointing to lay out that kind of cash and end up with an implement you can't use because of the issues.
The only support the company has offered was to say " good luck with it and let us know how you make out". 2-year warranty is pretty meaningless.

They do have a nice website but I've learned long ago that a nice website means nothing if the seller don't back up a product. Good luck fixing it. Think I'd sent them the bill for repairs. Probably won't get squat but you'll make a point and in the cyber world, bad reviews can kill a buisiness.

We'll see. New proper grade bolts, washers and lock nuts are ordered.
Need to resolve the issue of the top link being angled off to one side instead of coming straight back. Not sure how to correct that yet.
The gear box is the bigger issue. Threads in the oil fill hole are pretty much wrecked. Looks like they were cut twice. Like a tap was run in crooked and messed up the threads.
I don't know if they can be salvaged but that is going to involve removing the gear box to chase the threads and then wash out any metal.

None of that should be on a new machine. Sounds to me like they unload a container, stuff the stuff in a warehouse without ever looking at it and then sell it. Heck of a way to do business.

I’d send it back and take the 15% hit. Those issues you cited will plague you forever and be a constant reminder of its lack of quality.
The go find yourself a small John Deere flail made decades ago.
It’ll run forever, can be repaired and compliment your tractor. I had a big JD390 flail and loved it. They make smaller ones. Even a 30 year old one is better than a cheap new one.
I avoid anything Chinese made.
