Von,
I don't know what kinda worm that is but I do know where
they come from and what happens to them with time. A few
years ago I would by some granola type stuff from bins at a
local market. I was making food bars or some such. Forgot
about a bag of the stuff that was left in the kitchen. Well,
one winter we started having those worms DROPPING from
the ceiling! /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif Dozens of worms all over the ceiling
falling down with little silk threads. Looked like the 82nd Bug
Battalian was invading our house! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif As we back tracked
them we found The Bag. The bag of "food" was full of the
worms. Well we went bonkers and cleaned up the cabinet.
It took HOURS since the bugs where all over the place.
Whew but at least there are no more bugs dropping from the
ceiling into our dinner plates.....
But that was not the end of the story.....

Then the moths showed up. Flittering around the house. Not
one or two but dozens. Constantly killing moths...... Well
after another cleaning session we found the little cocoons.

At first I wrote this up to just bad luck. Then one day I was
at the market again. Noticed something fly by my face. What
the heck was that! You guessed it. A certain small moth.
An obvious cousin to the horde in my house. Hmmmmm.....
I also buy Almonds from this market. Well Almonds ain't
cheap. They keep the nuts in big bins and I would get a
pound or so and put it in a thick zip lock bag the store
provided. I would toss the bag into The Cabinet. Well, one
night I need to make some toasted Almonds. So I get out a
skillet, turn on the burner, and pour some nuts in the pan.
I started moving the pan and notice something moving. But
moving in a way most unlike the nuts. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif You have a
picture that is a pretty good resemblence of what was inching
its way aournd the pan. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Took the Bag O Nuts back to the store. The mangler did not
even bat an eye when I SHOWED him the bag crawling with
worms. I talked to one of the workers and she said they had
a bad bug infestation. They would freeze the bulk items but
it was not helping.... /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
Believe it or not I still buy Almonds in bulk and even from this
store. But they go right into the freezer......
I think we ALL eat ALOT of bugs and bug eggs.... I KNOW I
have! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
I wish I had gotten a lifetime supply of Almonds out of this
experience in BugDom. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Later,
Dan
