Beware of Adobe Acrobat X (Version 10)

   / Beware of Adobe Acrobat X (Version 10) #11
Just looked at the Scribus site and it indicates the windows version is for 32 bit OS. I recently moved to 64 bit Windows XP. Any knowledge of whether it will work with a 64 bit OS?

Thanks for the information....I use pdf files a lot. Mostly I've been using a Docudesk product.

I use Scribus with Linux and WinXP 32bit. I can only assume it would work in Win XP 64 bit. Why not give it a try.

Just a note, OCR actually reduces file size. It takes longer but replaces the bitmap scan with text so the file is a fraction of the size of the original "photo" of the document.

...They're selling you software guaranteed to be the software it's advertised to be...

FWIW...

Just for the record and not to be a stickler...

In reality...there are only two ways the average computer user actually "owns" any software...

1. They write the software themselves...
or
2. They contract with a coder to write it for them...

otherwise...regardless of what it is...all anyone owns is a "license to use"

FWIW, I recently had to upgrade my various special programs when I moved to Vista. Turns out my old software was 16 bit. That seems to be the break point. Vista is 64 bit, but handles 32 bit no problem, and the source of my software said there really isn't much software out there that is true 64 bit.

32-bit apps on 64-bit windows are fine. It is true there aren't a lot of true 64-bit applications at the moment, but developers are starting to catch up with the OSes.
